Really not a good idea to judge Vilardi based on his production this year, given that every one of Windsor's best forwards had trouble scoring this year. Vilardi was one of the only Spitfires who's production took a major step forward.

Brown and Nattinen saw significant decreases in their production.

Addison, DiGiacinto and Luchuk saw their numbers stagnate.

Bracco was putting up almost 2 points per game in Kitchener and his production was cut in half as soon as he came to Windsor. Same thing happened to Knott, but he went from over a PPG in Niagara to not close to a PPG in Windsor.

In short, Rocky Thompson is a terrible coach, and Vilardi's numbers would have been a lot better under a different offensive system.

Glass is going to look good in the orange and black of Philadelphia (most mock drafts that I've seen have him ending up in Philadelphia). I love his overall skill set. I get that he plays for a high scoring team in Portland, but he does so many little things right that all the good players do. He's got good size, plays hard in all three zones and has very soft hands.
Well Philly you guys got first choice at Glass, go for it! :yo:

Jets got lucky last year... give it a rest
I lol'd.

If I had the 1st Overall Pick, Glass just may be my pick

Really? Thats bold i really like Glass too I hope somehow he falls to 5 and Benning goes completely anti-Benning and makes the right choice and takes him. I can see this

This is going to get a lot of laughs and probably some critism - but let me be the first to agree with you 100% - and without reservation. Every year in the draft there are players taken in the mid and late first rounds who a couple years later you wonder why they were so underrated. These are players that have it all, NHL size, great skating, a skill set that they know how to use. They put up numbers. Have tremendous upside. Yet they don't get much of the love. Glass is one of those guys, and this year, due to some other lack of quality, he's a top ten guy instead of being rated later on. Maybe it's because they play on weaker teams or stacked teams and scouts look for flaws that don't exist. Or they're over scouted and scouts think too much.

I think Glass has it all, my favorite player in the draft.

I agree. I think he will be the best forward from this draft. Not sure why so many people have Patrick/Hischier as the consensus 1st OA. Glass is way better than both imo

He has terrific hockey sense and incredible vision, very polished skills and doesn't turn the puck over much, but he's not as much of a take charge kind of guy as the other two at this point, more of a give and go type player. It's the upside people like but there is a range of projections this point.

I love how so many fans of teams other than Philly and New Jersey "now" have Glass or other players ahead of Patrick or Hischier, especially Vancouver fans. Glass may end up being the better player but Patrick is clearly ahead of him at this point in both careers.

it used to be hischier-patrick-glass-heponiemi-suzuki for me but now its more hischier-patrick/glass-heponiemi-suzuki

Good way to put it. I'm a big Glass fan, but he can really prefer to play off the puck in the o-zone, finding holes, which he's excellent at. Off the rush he is great with the puck, but in the zone, he's very give-and-go, making quick trigger plays. He's not someone who really controls play on the puck.

I'm divided myself whether it's a style thing or a physicality thing. Because he's not a dynamic skater either, in quickness or agility (though in stride off the rush he's solid) so he can't just skate around guys to control the play on the puck. So, if he wants to play a more puck dominant game, he needs to play more of a grinding physical game, not afraid to play with guys on him. But right now he just gets knocked off pucks too easily and dishes it off under pressure to do the give-and-go stuff. He's so scrawny right now though, maybe when his body develops he'll feel more comfortable doing this. Or it's just his style.

I like Glass as a prospect, but I'd still take Patrick over him 100% (as long as his medical check out). Glass does have that projectable frame and skill set of guys like Schiefele and RyJo but I still think Patrick is a significantly better bet. I can see for an argument for him over Hischier, but I'd still take Hischier over him, although, I don't think there is a sizable divide. As of now, my top 4 would look like this. I don't really see a big divide though, so it wouldn't be surprising if Glass ends up the best.

1: Patrick
2: Hischier
3: Vilardi
4: Glass

It's very possible that glass/Vilardi end up better than Hischier/Patrick. This draft is very much like Draisaitl being better than Reinhart/Bennett

Why is the consensus that Dallas goes Villardi? Glass looks like he's capable of being third. I'm not sure how Dallas goes, I wouldn't mind Heiskanen, Glass, Villardi or Mittel but I have a feeling Glass and Heis turn out the best of the four. We'll see though. Either way, it's a great time to be a Stars fan after these past few weeks.

This is hilarious. Theres like 1 canucks fan that said that.

Anywyas, i still think Hischier, Patrick, Vilardi are better than him, and he's neck and neck eith Heiskanen.
