Fixed to Ruin
Come wit it now!
If he has a big playoffs and a memorial cup appearance it's going to be difficult for NHL teams to pass up on him.Pretty impressive to be the best player on the top team in the CHL at 17yo

He’s a lot of fun to watch, too. He’s good at everything and works his ass off. I bet he’s the favorite player of every coach he’s had at every level.
Sounds like Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
Lol. Red Cheeks / 60. The latest fancy stat.

Now 5th in QMJHL scoring.
And scoring isn't even the most impressive part of his game.
It's Desnoyers' all-around potential that tantalizes scouts and amateurs like me, his high-level work ethic/"pro attitude", and how he produces all that offense whilst not "cheating" defensively in the slightest.
I genuinely think that with good, positive development, Desnoyers could end up being a high-end matchup center with strong scoring abilities.
Which, to me, is a VERY important piece to grab for a team. Moreso considering that Desnoyers' floor is so high (besides injury) and that if he fails to develop much at all he'll still end up playing many NHL games as a third/fourth-line center, which is still an important part of a team's makeup.
While Desnoyers might not have "superstar potential" like some prospects in this year's draft, the fact that he could be a Sean Couturier type of player (only an example) for a team means that he should be drafted quite high in the draft, much more highly than open-source scouting services like Eliteprospects seem to think (their latest ranking puts him in the 15th spot).
If not, I'd be more than happy for my favorite team, the Canadiens, to draft someone like Desnoyers or Frondell in the teens at the draft. I kid, I wouldn't just "be more than happy"; I'd be freaking ecstatic if that happened.
I've already said it elsewhere, but I'd have Desnoyers 5th on my personal list right now and Frondell 6th (lower because of injuries despite IMO slightly-superior tools).
To better substantiate my point, I'd say that the trio of Desnoyers, Frondell, and Jackson Smith are the "consolation prizes" for teams that don't manage to draft top-4 this year.
Oh, and what I do see of this draft class does not at all correlate to the "weak draft past the top-4" general opinion that has made its way through HfBoards and some of the scouts.
I see tons of talent after the top-4, and personally think this draft will ultimately be an "average" one when the years have come and gone and we look back at the 2025 Draft with the power of hindsight.

Love Desnoyers, but offensive upside might not be the highest.Detroit probably picks somewhere around 5-10. He (along with Frondell) scream Detroit picks.
I'd say he's more like Ryan Nugent-HopkinsIs he more Ryan O Reilly or David Legwand
Like this guy for the Preds , esp around where they will end up picking , but nervous he may not have the top line center potential we need

PLD was also a stud in the Q. Scored 42 goals and 99 points in 62 games and was drafted #3 OA.He pretty much leads his league in scoring - and his team by a massive margin in his DY.
Thats very promising and impressive for a player not primarily know for his offensive upside!
A PLD who actually tries could be good enough for a #1C.PLD was also a stud in the Q. Scored 42 goals and 99 points in 62 games and was drafted #3 OA.
I see similar offensive upside... Good 2-way C with size. 60-70 points.
Is that good enough for a #1 C? Not sure. Certainly a very good player.
Never believed he had elite offensive potential... I think 60-75 points always was his ceiling, but still, it is a very good 2C when he's on.A PLD who actually tries could be good enough for a #1C.
