Decision coming today or tomorrow apparently.

I think it's going to be Switzerland, but I'm still hoping it's Everett so I can watch him play in Saskatoon when the Silvertips play there.

Amateur question but if any one would inform me, would be appreciated...is there any inter-country play among the European teams? Going to be in the Czech Republic for a few months, and would love to see him play if they'll be facing off against any Extraliga teams..

There is during the pre-season and in the Champions League but Zürich doesnt play any Extraliga clubs during the Group Stage so you will have to hope they get matched up with one during the Knock-out phase (assuming they advance.)

I dont know who ZSC other pre-season opponents are yet if you will be in the Czech Republic during that time. Not to insult you, but pre-season is August/early September incase you didnt know.

If he is playing against men and has a bad year, will his stock go down? Or is this guy a consensus #1 next year.

In that situation, WJC performance will matter more. If he struggles against men but kills it at the WJC, then his stock wont suffer. But if his WJC isn't great, he would drop. Especially if Puljujarvi or Laine succeed against men.

I mean also if his Swiss season is going badly. He could always come back and play for Everett, I'd think?

not consensus no... a favorite as of now id say, but not a for sure bet

If he isn't consensus, then he's a heavy favorite and frontrunner for sure.

He outproduced Jack Eichel at the same stage of his career, is a big 6'2" center who skates well and plays a mature game.

If I'm Marc Crawford I'd be giddy as well, this kid is a tremendous talent, so of course he misses the draft cutoff by 2 days the one year Arizona picks 3rd overall.

I've only seen him in a couple of international tournaments here in Sweden & at the U18's. Every time he has impressed me more than Eichel did. There has to be a McDavid-type talent next year for him not to go first.

i hope he does it, teenager gets to spend 6 months living in europe making a 6 figure wage. almost a no brainer

Obviously there's a positional difference but how does Chychrun compare?

I've seen more of Matthews than Chychrun, but have heard very good things about the latter.

Chychrun is by most accounts as good or even a bit better than Ekblad was at the same age.

Almost 100% he's heading to Europe says Damien Cox, who's been covering this whole thing closely.

Although apparently there's teams in Finland and Sweden talking to him now.

Bummer, I wanted to see him play in the WHL.

Here is the tweet

If he's drafted and not quite upto NHL speed, can he go to the AHL rather than junior? Ie William Nylander was able to bc he was in Europe and not the CHL.
