I'm curious about him in this tournament.

Does anyone know whether Geci is still training in Slovakia right now?
Despite the fact that he didn't even play last season, he trained really hard and with the best coaches in Slovakia. At one time he also trained with the best Slovak players like Tatar, Fehervary, Ruzicka, etc. But I don't know what progress he made, we'll see in the match.

Same, I’m wondering how he will play and where in line up he will fit. This tournament is big for him, maybe a couple Central European NHL scouts have eyes on this before HGC. Could also help boost his stock for wjc this winter

Curious, any chance this lad gets taken in the remaining rounds?

I see that Wyatt Johnston was drafted in the 1st round by the Stars, but at least he played in the U18...Geci hasn't played any second of competitive hockey this entire year...

This kid is my favorite dark horse this year. 6'3 big bodied talented forward who coaches rave about yet totally off the radar because of the coof. Hope he gets drafted as he seems like the best mystery box for forwards this draft.

It's not likely, but it's not unrealistic either.

Hope he can use it as motivation to have a great season in sarnia. Looking forward to him next week at the u20 tournament
Not sure what motivation there is for him since nobody would've drafted a prospect that played zero games. Some of the Canadians and Russians got some WJCU18 action, he got none. That doesn't mean he sucks though, I expect a lot of overagers to be drafted next year.

I don't think there will be a lot of overagers drafted next year since 2004 seems to be strong draft class.

Off to a slow start in the OHL. Hopefully he picks it up as the season goes on

His production is weak but that was pretty much expected. He’s just not that great of a skater to excel. Not saying he won’t be a productive player eventually but he hasn’t shown much improvement since I last saw him in the summer. He was playing only 4th line on Slovakia’s u20 team in summer tournament which was missing a considerable chunk of players. He probably won’t even get an invite to u20 camp for WJC.

Looks like someone on Regina took his number 20 and he is no longer listed on their roster. Any idea what happened to him?

At roster deadline time (Jan 10), he was released or left the team and the Pats traded for 18yo Logan Linklater from PA Raiders. He was playing junior-A to start the year. And honestly, after two games of him so far, most notably tonight's, he brings more to the table than Geci did.

Geci wasn't having enough of an impact to be taking a spot anymore. Seemed like a good kid and was trying out there, but he wasn't doing much. Wasn't hurting the team, but an 18yo import SHOULD be more impactful. Glad he got chance here for the Pats though. Could see some flashes of why he's probably had success in the past, but needed to put it more together here. I noticed he was decent at finding open space around the net, but either didn't receive a pass or plays got broken up before the puck got to him. He had some opportunities in the top six, but ended up in a bottom six role mostly when more players got healthy and other players were just doing more than him. Saw some PP time aswell.

I see. I didn't see anything official so thanks for clearing that up . Yeah some imports are hit or miss , Geci couldn't quite cut it in his CHL time it seems. I would suspect he goes to a lesser North American junior league below CHL or back to Europe now
