Value of: Byram (or Power) to CGY

Miromanov does not suck and was a very effective player when he played.

Some would argue that he was healthy scratched due to poor play.

I would argue it was more due to 1) the great play of Hanley as the LD partner of Weegar and 2) Miromanov doesn't score at the level the Flames had hoped for.

Other than that he played low event defensive hockey.

As far as the OP premise goes, I would offer one of Zary, Sharangovich or Farabee for Bowen.

Other adds could be made by either team to get the deal done, but most likely wouldn't involve Andersson as it would be too much for Byram.

If Andersson appeals to Buffalo, add a sweetener in the form of a prospect.
Farabee was a cap dump, the Flames got Frost cheaply to take him on.

Calgary and buffalo are terrible trade partners.

1. The value sucks
2. If you stop and think for 3 seconds about the trade from the other team’s perspective, can you name even a semi-plausible reason the Sabres want to make their team worse? And a division rival better? …yeah, didn’t think so.
your a mod , lol

Any interest in something around Byram for Bahl? Not totally sure how I feel about it, but it seems like an interesting idea.

No.
I wish this Byram to Calgary crap would stop. We don't need more offensive defensemen. We certainly can't afford to move our best defensive defenseman for Byram.

It seems that random fans keep trying to rebuild Calgary and disassemble Buffalo, while trying to read instructions on how to do so properly in a language they do not understand.

Maybe there's some minor or medium trades for both teams. But big splash trades, I am in agreement that the logistics of getting such a trade done doesn't typically really make any sense for both or either sides.

Also calling Farabee a cap dump is pretty nearsighted considering he was a 50 point player just 1 year ago. It's much more of a safe bet that his shooting percentage doesn't continue to stay at career lows, same with Frost

I recall one of either Frost of Farabee say something strange when they came to Calgary. Something about how practices are very different in Calgary and it starts off in a sort of group environment instead of starting off doing something on their own or something?

I could be misremembering, but I remember listening to the interview and being baffled of such a possibility and also thinking it meant that odds of improvement via coaching would be higher than previously expected.

Torts has his issues, but I wasn't aware that was a thing with him where a player could kinda just do his own thing in practice for longish periods of time. We still see tons of glimmers of what Frost and Farabee can do, even if it isn't reflecting on the scoreboard.

Honestly at times, it kinda feels like someone thinks that by cannibalizing a turbo from one vehicle and shoving it into a PHEV, it can easily improve the performance of both vehicles. One gets a power boost, the other drops weight.

During the exit interviews, I think it was Frost that mentioned the pre-game prep, where in Calgary they gather and discuss (in detail) what to do to be successful in each game, while in Philly they didn't do much of a prep and were just told what they did wrong after the games.

Little comments like this really make me think Huska is the right coach for this franchise.

No, Bahl has been a gem, Calgary won't move him. Needed a Tanev replacement like him

That trade with Jersey ended up a 10/10 would-do-again.
Marky was solid for Jersey, but getting a mid-round pick, Kevin Bahl, two pieces that'll be on the roster for the next 5+ years, along with providing Wolf an avenue to become 'the guy' in Calgary... just clean work by Conroy.

I expect the Devils will like the trade more next year with a bit more health on their roster. This pick was suppose to be a lot worse.

But you are correct, Calgary can't move on from Bahl in a Byram trade because it just opens up another hole.
