The worst coach in the olympics by a light year has been the Russian Coach.. Coach "Bil". Bylsma is a ****** coach but not nearly as bad as Bil

I don't know, tough to beat Russia/Czech for that, but he was pretty damn bad.

There's about 24 people (team + Bylsma - Quick and Callahan) that can't spell intense, let alone Bobby Ryan.

It's almost as if Pens fans called this as soon as he was selected for the job.

I don't know about the worse but he's definitely in the conversation. He could not make in game adjustments it seemed. Unfortunately I know as a Flyers fan that his assistant is just as bad if not worse in that department.

IMO the team wasn't put together well and wasn't coached well either. Regardless the players themselves underachieved at the end of the day.

Credit to Finland and Canada, they were just better. No other way of putting it.

The Russian and Czech coaches were obviously worse, but Bylsma was third, and it wasn't even close. He's just an awful coach. Coaching was the downfall of this team, IMO.

It's funny that I've been saying this forever on these boards. Byslma is not the coach you want behind your bench in big games. Many don't believe me. Well they're seeing it first-hand now.

He's won 3 playoff series since 2009, with talented teams.

He has a losing record at home during the playoffs. (yes, with last change)

2 years in a row he's had offensive teams completely shutdown overnight. Pens vs Bruins last year, and USA vs Can/Fin at these olympics.

His teams will play completely undisciplined when things don't go their way. Everyone has seen the Penguins meltdowns and you were seeing it again today with the USA taking horrible penalties out of frustration.

He refuses to line match and won't put his best players in the best situations to succeed.

These things stop becoming a coincidence after a while and start becoming a trend.

I noticed that last night. If I'm not mistaken, the USA had last change since they finished first place in the round robin. Yet Bylsma kept putting Kessel's line out vs Toews.

Toews is arguably the best defensive forward in the world, why would you consistently put your biggest offensive threat out vs him? Kessel was a complete non-factor vs team Canada.

I'd say the Russian coach and the Czech coach were worse.

But Bylsma wasn't much better. You see it all the time when you watch the Penguins too.

USA chokes.

Blame the coach.

Its a weird coincidence that Bylsma coached teams in NHL & Olympics choke against lesser talented teams, but please go ahead and stay in denial.

One can only imagine how much success the Penguins, or even Crosby or Malkin could have if he attempted to get them away from the matchups the opposing coaches want.

Against Boston he played Malkin vs Chara all the time. Even when stats showed that Malkin hadn't scored a goal with Chara on the ice in forever.

He also continued to march Crosby's line out there against Bergeron on a regular basis.

I'm glad people are now seeing what Pens fans agonize about.

The worst? Nah. The Russians barely had any coaching, and the Czechs were even worse with coaching and player selection than Team USA. That said, Bylsma was terrible.

Always thought he was overrated cause he took the Pens team to the cup. Pretty much any coach in the NHL could of coached them to a cup with that lineup.

Unfortunately USA doesn't have that many great coaches to choose from.

He'd not have won that Cup had his squad not been playing a Red Wings team that was thoroughly riddled with injuries. He is therefore even more overrated.

He's such a joke of a coach, and i used to think Shero was a great GM but after he extended Bylsma after that dumpster fire of a series last year, he can go to hell too. I just hope Shero has enough balls to fire him after the Penguins inevitably lose to a lower seeded team for the 5th year in the row.

Really? He was one goal from the Gold Medal game. He did a fine job. He can't magically make Team USA blossom enough elite talent to beat Canada.

Bilyaletdinov, Hadamczik and Bylsma all failed pretty badly. Switzerland and Slovakia also had disappointing tournaments, but I don't know how much of that falls on the coaches.

Terrible selection for team USA but the Czech coach was easily, EASILY worse.

Damn Oshie getting me all excited in that shootout. Between spelling "intensity", Bylsma as coach, Burke being the outdated fool he is, and Poile having accomplished nothing ever making terrible selections for the roster, this team was doomed from the beginning. False sense of excitement one week ago

Unfortunately the rest of us now feel the way Pens fans feel all the time :(

I think the Czech and Russian coaches were worse than Bylsma.

He was the best choice at the time. USA is going to have to broaden their coaching search in 2018.
