No way. . . I thought this guy was going to be the next big thing.

I remember watching him in college when I was in Jr High. . .

Totally forgot about him for so many years, what a blast from the past.

Ned Braden was the college player/skill guy in Slapshot! Soft as puppy poo as some around here would put it

Michael Ontkean.

I knew him from the second grade's favorite show, The Rookies.

BTW, he's from BC and apparently did his own skating, stick handling, etc. in Slapshot.

Yes! Charlie, Jeremy, Cam, #4, and a buncha guys in suits were in there. It was pretty packed, and us minions were instructed to not converse with the execs and to not use this specific elevator. I was at ice level and bumped into Cam in front of the two elevators, and as I regained my composure the forbidden lift opened up. Cam shuffled in and I stood there in my shitty concessionaire apron holding a lock box with $800. They all stared back at me for a moment and Charlie leaned out and said “come on, just get in” with a smile. I was fully prepared to wait for the other lift or take the stairs. Charles saved the day!

Most random four flights in an elevator of all time

Cool story. I like Charlie and hope he has a hand, if not the hand, in a post-JJ era.

One day at work I didn’t have change for $1.50 in a vending machine. The next day I did the same thing. My fellow maintenance guy stated to call me chizzler after I borrows some quarters…..who carry’s change nowadays.

The Hajj was a nickname given to me back in high school. I went to Methuen High in the late 70’s. There were lots of Lebanese and Syrian families in the area so everyone knew it was a shortened version of my last name. I’ve been here in Idaho for 35 years and lots of people still think I’m on the FBI Most Wanted List because of my nickname. 😃😃😃

Is it true that Idaho has the worst looking/small potatoes because they sell all the nice ones to us suckers?

Why not call yourself Montross ????

The correct answer is Dino.

Great thread Sarge!

Mine is from what is still my favorite regular season B's game of all time. November 1989, B's down 2-0 at home to the Habs, and came back to win. Fred Cusick had the iconic "Ludwig Fell Down" call on Wesley's goal, and that stuck with me.

I remember that game ! Bourque and Linseman; two of the greats.

Before there was HFBoards, there were one or two other similar boards around in the early 2000s. I, and a few other people still here, used to post on them. I ran as “13Linseman” on them, in obvious tribute to my co-favorite Bruin of all time number 13 Kenny Linseman (other co-favorite is Ray Bourque).

So anyways, when I, and others, migrated to this board, I found that someone had already registered “13Linseman”! So, in response to this obvious affrontery and attempt to impersonate me, I changed to “TheReal13Linseman”. I mean, cmon now, what was I supposed to do?? I wasn’t just gonna just sit around and let some interloper take my role as the rude, know-it-all, sarcastic, inflammatory guttersnipe of the Bruins board! Hell no! That role was mine! Just as Kenny would’ve wanted.

In the late 80's and early 90's, I did a lot of creative work on british cars. If it had Lucas (Prince of Darkness) ignition, I probably have worked on something like it. My buddy and I built several MGBs with small Buick V8s in them for ourselves, friends and family. We called them our "Killer B's". On one of the previous boards, I morphed it to Killerbeez.

I always love when this topic comes up. It's cool to see what inspires people.

I am not that creative and this is one of the screen names I used to use on other sites and used it here when I made my account. At the time I initially created it, I loved Sergei Samsonov, so that's where the 14 comes from.

Recently I've been thinking about changing my username though. I might use a Jack Edwards phrase haha.

i firmly believe the world would become a kinder gentler place if everyone walked around with a stungun. people would learn to be more courteous and more kind, if they werent you would wake up on the street in a puddle of your own piss.... probably learn quickly not to be an asshole..
Makes sense to me. Also useful if you are front of me at the liguor store and you take longer than 5 seconds to decide on what lottery numbers to play. The voltage goes up the longer I wait.

At my work we always said if you were walking down the main hall way it was your choice to just stop and square up with anyone who was a known DB

TumblinMuffin or a variant of it is a wonderful idea.

One of their greatest comebacks, still remember it as though it were yesterday. I was studying for a college exam while listening to the game on the radio at low volume (great strategy), and shut the radio off when Linseman took a penalty with about 4 mins to go. Turned the radio on 15 mins later just to see if they at least broke the shutout and to my shock and enjoyment, the Montreal broadcasters were in funeral parlor mode in disbelief at the loss.

Really cool to see some of the stories behind the screen names.

Mine will be rather anticlimactic. I recall creating an account on here back in 2005 or 2006, and chose the same screen name as my eBay ID, which is big-bad-bruin. Following over a year of inactivity on here, I couldn't recall my password and had since changed ISP (whose domain I was using for email), so I couldn't even reset it.

Couldn't reuse my old ID, so just ended up creating a variant of bad-bruin, assuming no one else would have...ground breaking stuff, LOL.

Well, mine was either going to be the one I have, loved Hawgie Hockey, or it would have been Markwart_17. Was psyched that he made it back for the Centennial celebration 2 weeks ago as I was actually wearing my Markwart jersey to the game that night.

And the that's our dog as my avatar. His name....Selke. It's very sad that less than 5% of the people know what it means when we walk him around the Back Bay. They think "Sulky", "Selfie", "Silky"...ugh. And I guess there's some Irish or Scottish legend about a mermaid named Selke that could come on land and seduce sailors. More people know that than the Selke/Bergeron Award.

For me, It goes back to 97 when The Bruins had the first pick, and it was
JoeWillBeAStud, and a few years later it switched to JoeIsAStud.

For whatever reason i didn't want to use my red sox board handle, which uses my actual name of Mike
