Pretty sure someone posted them the other day and we were 1st at home and 31st on the road.
Not having any luck tracking it down. If anyone finds it be interesting to see.Pretty sure someone posted them the other day and we were 1st at home and 31st on the road.
Hits, takeaways and giveaways are totally unreliable stats. Not having any luck tracking it down. If anyone finds it be interesting to see.
100%. Wondering if the Leafs have a home arena bias in the numbers, guessing yes. But have wasted as much time as I am willing to on it.Hits, takeaways and giveaways are totally unreliable stats.
Giveaway leaders are usually the best players in the game, but I find takeaways to have real merit.Hits, takeaways and giveaways are totally unreliable stats.
Let's hope the refs call this game fairly and at the very least call one of the deserved penalties against Buffalo, unlike the Rangers who apparently did no wrong. No holding on our players against the Rangers? Really? How is a team like the Leafs, who possess the puck so much, great puck carriers like Matthews, Nylander, Knies, 31st in PP's given??? Bottom 5 in the last 5 years on PP's given? How can you doubt that something is amiss?
Wonder where they rank for PK per game?
Be interesting to see the home/road split on hits. Often such a subjective stat based on who is calling it.
edit: Right, as @Stephen is saying lol.. did not watch MSG broadcast.. maybe I'll look it up
I lied, I found it finally.100%. Wondering if the Leafs have a home arena bias in the numbers, guessing yes. But have wasted as much time as I am willing to on it.
Would also be nice to see the "hits" per game categorized in terms of winning games or losing games
I lied, I found it finally.
Leafs Hits/60m @ home = 26.45
Leafs Hits/60m on road = 12.90
26.45 hit/60m at home is 2.5 higher then any other team in the league at home lol..
18.58 in winning games
24.71 in losses
20.33 OTL
Sammy's numbers are disgusting. Even worse than Levi.
Then, please explain why our Leafs are 31st in drawing penalties in a 31 team league ??? Especially with the skill and finesse our top players possess.I just don't see why the refs would have something against Toronto. I don't buy in to the conspiracy theories.
Based on last year, I can see why.Sammy has more lives than a cat ffs
Option 1 seems highly unlikely, and that's putting it mildly. A massive conspiracy, involving a ton of people, based on the theory that slanting penalty calls against one team out of 32 is going to help grow the game in the USA? No offence, but that's one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. Then, please explain why our Leafs are 31st in drawing penalties in a 31 team league ??? Especially with the skill and finesse our top players possess.
Why are our Leafs RARELY given a 5 on 3 despite other teams committing offenses during their penalty killing ??? Last season it took till March before our Leafs were granted a 5 on 3 !!!
I believe that there is three things going on as follows:
1) Bettman and Jacobs know that MLSE, and our Leafs, make tonnes of money no matter what. So, it's easy to slant the officiating in favor of American based teams. They are trying to GROW the game in the U.S. of A. and could care less about the Canadian based teams and their fan bases, especially our Leafs.
If Canada mattered to the NHL, there would be a team in Quebec City over keeping a team in Arizona !!!
2) I'd put money on the fact that most referees grew up HATING our Leafs, and therefore, are biased against them.
3) Those referees that are from Ontario, and/or grew up cheering for are Leafs, go out of their way to prove to everyone that they ARE NOT biased in favor of their childhood team.
This is just my humble opinion, however, based on the stats, my hockey coaching experiences, my conversations with NHL players, and my nearly 60 years of watching NHL hockey, I truly believe that there is some merit to my opinions as stated above.
Last year?they gave him a one year contract to prove himself he failedBased on last year, I can see why.
