He definitely jumped into it a little bit, but that part wasn't terribly egregious. If there was no injury/hit to the head on the play, I highly doubt he would have been called for charging (even if he could have been by definition).

But there was, and he did, so there is.

All those components create a multi factor terrible play by him. Just beyond stupid and very well probably cost his team the game

It was a pretty big punishment tonight, as it eliminated any chance for the Leafs to come back and gave all the momentum to the lightning.

Anyone notice he's trying to do to Cernak what Cernak did to him earlier in the game? The play that lead to the Leafs PP goal.

The difference is that Cernak didn't hit him in the head and Bunting dove pretty hard.

Look at the rear camera view. Cernak was skating towards Bunting from behind/side while leaning down. Can anyone tell me where exactly Bunting was intentionally trying to hit Cernak in the head rather than it being accidental?

Such an unlikeable player ffs. If he's not diving, he's playing on the edge. If he's not on the edge, he's clearly over it and then gives you the "What did I do?!"
