Dallas had 2 shots on net in the final 10 minutes of the game. The Oilers were hardly hanging on for dear life at the end. One bad bounce and an anti-clutch goalie made the 3rd look bad. But the team was playing fine.

Closing leads has kinda been like that all year. Team in general seems like they can lock it down pretty well but they are really prone to some bad luck and breaks.

I wouldn’t say he gave up a soft one but 4 goals against is never a solid night for a goalie.

Agreed, people will complain about Skinner but defensively there is a lot of problems. But team looked better and really shouldn't have been as close as it was.

Not sure if I agree with this. On 3 of our goals OTT was just a clown, not sealing post on two of the goals and fumbling anything. Really he was bad tonight. We got some goals that shouldn't have been there with better goaltending. For instance if you look at the Mcd play ask what Ott is even doing there. Panicking from the looks of it.

Yeah first goal and fourth goal. Maybe bad luck but not his night.

Yep unless oilers run 7 D I can see him sitting quite a bit.

He robbed Rantanen and then gave up 3 goals on the next 4 shots. Makes one big save in a period and you guys just go "jobs done what more do you want?"

He played a great game but let's not get our hopes up too much haha.

It'll be nice to have another top 4 option as Ekholm starts to age though. Both he and Walman are on expiring contracts next season and I could see the Oilers re-signing both but basically swapping their contracts.

he broke up a few scoring plays including a tap in feed to Rantanen I believe it was. Janmark got a stick on it otherwise its in the net. Was a tap in empty goal if he doesn't get that. Broke up rushes, played good on pk, can't produce a drop of offense to save his life....

But his D instincts are pretty damned solid.

I do remember that play and I agree his D instincts are good, however I’m not sure that necessarily makes him good enough to be an every day NHLer if he’s providing nothing offensively as a forward

Klingberg is kinda interesting. I think hes been a bit too much chaos but is a plus player during a time the Oilers have been bad. Probably will play less minutes with Walman.

With this club complete games are a rarity and I don't think we'll see much change. Have to sit back and enjoy it. I turn it off when I get too nervous. Wife says she's moving out if I destroy one more remote.

I hear you. This game actually gave me a headache. I rarely get headaches. I threw a pillow instead. I talked to Skinner a couple times out of habit.

Seems like we need so much from the same players ride them hard and now in third periods a sag. McD this season seemingly has been best early in games and not late in games. But him and Drai have to make so many plays on this team every game.
