This was a beatdown at ES. Sabres got basically nothing especially outside the 1st period.

Georgiev is f***ing horrid. I can't see how this FO thinks he is an NHL player right now. I have not felt safe with him in net in years.

Chytil looked like he was ready to bust out, then got dinged up.

Don't have issue with GG getting in Zs face, some fans always talk about accountability, well now you have it. Can't f***ing whine about not getting a whistle when the game is going on, f*** that, keep playing and don't stop.

I'm all for making fun Zibanejad but let me tell you guys something: vegan ice cream f***s.

Honestly, I liked Kincaid when he was playing. I felt more comfortable with him in net than Geo. Sadly, Geo has tanked his value. I honestly thought he'd have been traded in the off-season.

Either way, the only thing I'm left with is actually hopeful. They played like shit and managed to win...again. Imagine if they get their heads out of their asses. We'd be a serious threat.

I loved this win and I LOVED seeing Turk yelling at Mika.

I’m a big Mika fan but this is the type of leader behind the bench you need when shit starts to count.

Gallant has been very fair and light with this team getting to know all of the players, he’s still very cordial but you can tell it has been Go Mode for him the last couple of weeks.

Introductions are over. I don’t care what it was between the two of them but I’m sure Turk was justified in giving Mika a rap there.

Everyone will be better because of it, even Mika. He’s very fair with the players but he has a line, don’t cross it,

Gallant gets first star.

Putting in Shesterkin over Georgiev. **** your feelings, we're here to get points. I'm not saying this to troll the DQ fan club but let's all be reality here: DQ would never have had the cojones to do that.

Then shredding Mika in the midst of an entire arena + every other member of your squad celebrating because he took a few seconds off to yell at the refs.

Turk works.

If Mica was giving it to the ref and Gallant told him to skate through it than that’s exactly what he should be told. The fact that Mica tried to defend himself and make it public and Gallant’s reaction to that along with Kelly standing right there next to Gallant shows me Gallant is a really old school guy who won’t allow for questioning of his authority and expects the best from all around him. It’s really the kind of coach this team needs. That coupled with his “I play the guys skating the best that night” mentality clearly is why this team responds well!

This game, against a hard working but not a very good team, revealed a whole bunch about individual efforts on our team.

There were some players who just need to show a far more consistent effort. And there are a few players on the team that should not be dressing anymore.

More Effort:
1. Zib
2. Kakko (I know he scored, but his first period was garbage) needs more consistency
3. Goodrow - yes he was great on the final goal. But he was a possession killer on that line. And along with Zib it's rough.

Shouldn't be dressing:
1. Georgy. Sorry. I like the kid. But there were at least 2 goals that should have been stopped. He loses focus or loses confidence and he cannot fight through the slightest adversity to make a safe. The Thompson and Dahlin goals were unacceptable considering where they came from.
2. Tinordi
3... Not quite there yet, but Nemeth is on the bubble. He is a possession killer for us.

Special shoutout to Dryden Hunt who didn't score, but actually made that first unit look decent.

Some guys handle those public lashings better than others. Time will tell if that was a good move from Gallant.
