The only time I would advocate drafting for need is if there is a good goalie prospect in the 2nd round...Habs need a Carter Hart, Tristan Jarry type of prospect.

Would love to see you land a successor to Carey. A tall order I know, but when I think of the Habs I tend to think of iconic Goaltenders. Probably because I’m an Old Goalie myself.

Not overly worried about the goalie. Avs won with Kuemper who's a worse version of Allen. We got tons of assets we can trade since our forwards are pretty much set for the future anyways, but I don't see any team losing that stud #1 D soon. That could of course change but as of now, our hope is Hutson/Mailloux.

Yeah, it's pretty much next to impossible to acquire a Norris level defenseman. Problem with Hutson and Mailloux is they're both a few years away too, if they ever make it.

Allen shows why he has always been a back up. He just can't get it done. Habs need better goaltending

Allen's better than a backup, but not good enough to be a full-time starter. Similar to Halak, minus an epic playoff run. Don't overwork them and they're solid. Play them too often, you get periods like we saw tonight where they look awful.
