Buffalo is looking to shake things up and I believe Smith wants playoffs this year. What I am offering is a trade for Byran. The two key players I am offering are having an off year but would be a strong fit in Buffalo.

Byran for Crouse, Maccelli and Cole. Utah gets the best player but Buffalo gets a young power forward that play strong defence and normally good for 15 to 20 goals, Maccelli who is also young and has a high offensive ceiling and Cole who can help fill the void of Byran. This should help Buffalo and help speed up Utah development. Utah could add picks but I dont see Buffalo wanting that. You could change Cole with Skahan but once again Buffalo wants to win now.
Frankly as a Sabres fan I think I do this. Cole brings a welcome edge to the blueline and some veteran awareness. Crouse is kind of exactly what we need more of in the middle 6. Maccelli would also be a welcome playmaking addition to our top 9.

As I'm thinking about this, I wonder if the Sabres need to send something back to get those 3....something smaller. Maybe Peyton Krebs -- natural C, solid defensively, a bit feisty....maybe some untapped offensive upside?

Cmon. Crouse and Macelli combined have less points than Byram this season. It’s trading a quarter for 3 nickels…and one of the nickels is 35.

If they played like they did in previous seasons they probably wouldn't be very available. Trading Byram for wingers seems questionable, but those players could be interesting. Although I'm probably even more interested in Kesselring and Hayton.

I would do this too. Maccelli is having a down season, but his output the past 2 years would be good enough to be on our 2nd line, and he’s still young. I’m not sure Byram even wants to re-sign in Buffalo, which many Sabres fans assume. This is exactly the kind of trade I would look for.

I don't think Maccelli fits on our roster, and we aren't making the playoffs this year so Cole is rather pointless.

I do want Crouse; I think he's exactly what we're lacking. However, Byram holds far more value IMO and he should be used to get a more elite player.

Utah's line of Maccelli, Bjug, Crouse is simply not clicking. At some point they might have a resurgence but a change of scenery might be the best for them and address a defensive need. I would never had thought of trading Crouse in particular, players like him are hard to acquire.

Byram would be great(and would love to add him) but Is someone like Romanov available? I would like a LD that can pair well with Kesselring or Durzi not named Valimaki.
