All jokes aside, I really feel bad and want to see stuff like this again.

Not sure what needs to happen though.

As much as those two years after the lockout were great for Buffalo, it was a forgone conclusion both Briere and Drury were gonna bounce the minute free agency hit. They were not gonna stay.

The team doesnt care about winning.
I feel the Sabres players rather be traded to a city/team that has palm trees
I remember Reinhart speaking with a reporter after he got traded and he was all excited and said something like, "it's south Florida, who wouldn't want to go there?".....I also Eichel being excited about going to Vegas

time to fire adams, he has been around pegula since pegula bought the sabres. A Brief History of Sabres GM Kevyn Adams its possible he has been undermining everyone for 16 seasons because he has pegulas ear

*edit* not saying intentional subterfuge, just his opinions may resonate more with pegula than black, lafontaine, murray, darcy or botts opinions did.

Fun stat:

There are currently only 3 active NHLers that have played a playoff game in Buffalo. Claude Giroux, JVR and Tyler Myers.

And Myers is the only player to play a playoff game in Buffalo FOR the Sabres.

If the Streak goes until 2029It is likely there will not be a single player in the NHL to play a playoff game in Buffalo

That would be wild.

Remember after the McEichel draft their fans claimed they "We're years ahead of Toronto in their rebuild and Babcock made a mistake when he chose the Leafs over the Sabres"
Just imagine how further back they’d be if Babcock got to “coach”

I would much prefer they do nothing than do the wrong thing and set us back years again. This team was playing good early in the season and even during some of the loss streak.

Get Dahlin back into the lineup and accept that if he's not carrying the team they arent going to get many wins even when playing reasonably well

For the love of god do not trade any of the well rounded players who can drive a line (again)

I feel like the Sabers are just young and the team hasn't really established a culture.

They seem to draft a lot of good players that don't have outgoing leadership personalities.

IMO they have the horses, need to start drafting character and letting the rest grow-up a little.

yea would be awful if the sabres had made the playoffs 3 times and still had eichel, reinhart & orielly haha. that would be terrible. really dodged the bullet.

Sabres have two first overall picks on LSD. Trade one of them for character players.

So funny how Jason Botterill was given like 5 minutes and he was fired but Kevyn Adams can just coast after trading Eichel, Mittelstadt and making the team worse than it was in 2020. Granted Botts did deserve to get fired just for hiring Ralph Krueger, but still.

2020 Sabres: Eichel, Reinhart, Dahlin, Thompson, Montour, Mittelstadt, Rodrigues. The core WAS ALL THERE. They just needed a real coach and to spend on some role players.
Linus Ullmark was on the team too, and posted a .915 sv%. Crazy how much talent has passed through the organization, while they remained a bad team for the entirety of it.

What? Lol
This is hilarious. My next door neighbors was literally in the room during talks with both. It wasn't Drury or Briere who wanted to leave. But I do enjoy the story line, Buffalo Bad. Lol

They trade anyone with character the moment they show it. Lots of recent Cup winners playing prominent roles on their respective teams came from Buffalo.

All I want for Xmas is Cozens for our 1st.

Probably a 7-9 pick with Cozens coming in now.
Sabres are not trading a core, albeit struggling player, for a futures trade. This isn't a blow up rebuild. Maybe we blow up the core, but it's to acquire new players.

Sabres is lacking 2-way players. Get Kakko from NYR for a 2nd and prospect. Then a 2-way vet in Granlund from SJ for 3rd + prospeect and you have life.
