Rumor: Buffalo & NYR having conversations about Trocheck today

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
You’re officially in win now mode!! Congrats. In a trade like this, you’re trading a projection for a certainty of what Trocheck is today. Theres risk on each side, but I don’t think there’s anything to discuss unless one of Kulich or Helenius comes back imo.
Trocheck isn’t the target if they are using Ostlund as bait

I mean I guess I’d consider McLeod for Trochek straight up. Just giving a different look to each teams 3C. Rangers get faster and younger. Sabres get a vet who can take faceoffs.

Kinda shuffling deck chairs but it could make sense.

nah. 2nd + B prospect is just an objective lowball. which, sure, if publicizing fantasies of fleecejobs make you feel powerful or whatever, nobody gonna stop you.

but player A is brock nelson at time of trade for 1st, cond 3rd, A prospect, and cap dump. bigger, better goal scorer and didn't benefit from play with panarin. but lacks trochecks PK, FO, versatility of overall game and chippiness: all things that matter most in the playoffs when it counts.

not saying he's worth 4 overall. and like i said feel free to amuse yourself with lowball posts. but i'm interested in how a reasonable buffalo fan might meet a roughly equivalent return to the Nelson deal.

Good thing we aren't in an arms race heading into the post season.

let me try again:

Offering a 2nd and a B prospect is no different than another poster saying Helenius is coming back.

Thats ridiculous.

I don’t think any realistic Rangers fan would expect otherwise. 20th and a young player seems about right with a plus here or there

Trocheck is still a very good player. He got hurt in camp and had some weird health issues last year, but he’s still a great guy on and off the ice. He’d fit nicely in Buffalo
Good to have three centers in case Norris goes down again.

i don't understand. you're not trying to improve your team because there's too much time before the trade deadline?

plenty of evidence that GMs prefer to get their business done earlier to allow team to develop chemistry.

Wasn’t Nelson at the deadline?

May as well lock this. Every player in the Buffalo organization is untouchable anyway. You saw how much it took to get Byram. The overpay was because he was a Sabre.

There just isn't the urgency is all.

Plenty other routes to take to improve team.
