Seravalli: Buffalo may not have a choice but to trade Peterka

His buyout is less than it would cost us to bury Samuelsson in the AHL. Just to further reinforce the idea that we're not attaching any sort of capital at all to him

Exactly, a 4th to buy not having to carry the hit for 10 years, is alright, I guess. At the same point, he's the type of change of scenery guy that moves often.

Soooooo that confirms that we're extending him.
I’m just saying people can believe whichever guy they want. Here’s their last three reports

Friedman
“They don’t want to trade him”
“They don’t want to trade him but I’m told they have been listening”
“They aren’t looking to trade him”

Seravelli
“He’s being moved at the deadline”
“He’s being moved by the draft”
“He’s totally moving by October”

One of these guys is an uninformed rumor monger who has never broken anything for them. You can decide which one…on page 47 of this nonsense

I don't like Frank either, but to say he has never broken anything is not true.

He made his name after breaking every pick in the Seattle expansion draft.

This is true but the league was super pissed about that… That’s why he probably only gets anything insider from agents nowadays - as that’s probably how he got all that info for the expansion draft anyways

I agree it sucked that he was able to do that, but the league should have done a better job making sure he Couldn't ruin that event.

Just like I think ian Rapoaport for nfl network did at the NFL draft when they delayed announcements for TV ptoduction

The league knew of the picks before they were formerly announced

Honestly Sabres may not get better value. They can always flip #3 to someone in another package

Adding a 23 yr old top line winger (Can play both LW/RW) would be fine with me (I like him)

We can only hope #3 pick becomes as good as Peterka is becoming

Adding Peterka would be adding a core piece to our team while #3 is a big ole mystery box

Hawks fans upset or against such a trade (If its straight up) are insufferable. The constant overrating of picks when you can get what you hope that pick becomes at 23 for your core would be great move.

There's zero chance that Chicago is like "here's pick 3 for Peterka straight up". Even in this draft, pick 3 is worth more than Peterka. So my guess is that Chicago wants something else substantial with JJP for pick 3.....and that I imagine Adams has zero interest in.
