The Hometown kid has finally arrived. Adds much needed toughness and aura to a boring team. Should bring entertainment on and off the ice in what will probably be Quinn Hughes last season as a Canuck.

Remember watching him with the Giants was an absolute monster.

His leadership and character will be invaluable to the fragile Lockeroom.

Perfect to fill the void since JT left.

this is going to be like when your sibling knowngly starts dating a dirtbag and you have to keep your mouth shut to keep the peace.

Makes you wonder whether the Canucks would have taken on Evander Kane if Rick Tocchet was still behind the bench.

Ugh. Not happy with this based on the stupid shit this guy pulls and the locker room reports. The team needs some serious veteran support and leadership to keep Kane in check.

But size in top 6 I guess - tons of y'all were heavy on getting that. There you go.

just hope that the fact this being a contract year for Kane means that he'll be on his best behavior.

I'm not sure how he isn't on his absolute best behavior; he could get $10M+ in total value on his next (and likely last) contract if he keeps his mouth shut and produces.

Yes he was good with the Giants and honestly I thought he would have a better career but his head wasn't always in the right spot.

But for a 4th and not Demko as was rumored why not?

The only concern is how will he fit in the locker room but he only has a year left in his contract so my guess is that he will be on good behaviour showcasing for another contract or his body breaks down and he goes on LITR.

It will be interesting to see how Canucks Fans "embrace" him now that he is one of us.

Predicting most will eat crow and be in love with the guy by the end of the season
This. Remember this is a fanbase that remembers Burrows, Lapierre, Rypien and even Torres fondly. Unfortunately he also seems to get penalties just for being on the ice. Still it's just a 4th so what the hell, if he is a bust we trade him at the deadline...

This is what I think will happen too. If he doesn't do anything stupid off the ice, and is motivated, I expect a very good year from him. His first year with Edmonton was star powerforward level.

Other than all the baggage :

The good :

- Kane scores *a lot* of ESG from generally middle-6 minutes.
- despite missing a year, he picked up right where he left off in this year's playoffs and continued to be an excellent ES scorer (despite mostly not playing with McDavid/Draisaitl).
- he's been a terrific playoff performer for Edmonton.
- he's one of the most physical top-6 forwards in the NHL. Sherwood and Kane just by themselves might through more hits than some entire 12-man forward groups next year.

The bad :

- age/injury question marks.
- poor discipline/bad penalties.
- after saying 'other than the baggage' ... there's still all the baggage. He seemed to do OK-ish off-ice in Edmonton but that was a lot more stable dressing room than we have currently.
