They took it to BUF for the majority of the game, but the Sabres had some 2-on-1s that Cam had to be rock solid against.

And 2 breakaways, shothanded, on the same shift.

They were sloppy all around IMO. Those games will happen. When you can win those types of games going away, it's a sign they are a much better team than we've seen in years.

The Hurricanes zone defense is so good, even when teams have offensive zone possession most of the time they just pass it around the perimeter. Columbus' 6th man opportunity was 30 seconds of perimeter play, then the second they tried to force it to the net Faulk broke it up easily.

The Sabres got 2 goals on broken plays and good Corsi the rest of the night.

Btw Boston leading Philly by 5 to 3 going into third in Boston....knock on wood.

That move by Lindholm where he fought off and outmuscled Ristolainen, then came in and got a good shot off which McGinn cleaned up was fantastic. I thought he's played fairly well this season (October not withstanding), but think (or maybe hope?) we are starting to see Lindholm develop into the player we hoped we'd see when we drafted him. Just that it's likely going to be at winger instead of center.

This "players developing" concept (Slavin, Pesce, Rask, McGinn, Lindholm, etc..) is such a foreign concept to me.

Boston NESN feed is pretty hilarious. Pastrnak got a penalty and the color guy said essentially "I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but these refs are looking for any way they can to put Pastrnak in the box. I guess that's the only way they can give Philly a chance here"

I know most people hate Brickley and Edwards (I'm assuming that's who is announcing as I'm not watching that game). I did at first also, but I now find them entertaining. They are the biggest homers for sure, but it's to a point where it's entertaining. Maybe it's because Forslund is so straight down the middle when he announces that it's a change of pace, I don't know. Granted, if I had to listen to them a lot, I'd probably tire of them quickly, but in small doses, I don't mind them.

Might be the first Forsberg like move he's ever made for us. Obviously not likely to reach that lofty comparison, but it was great to see.

Edwards and Brickley call the game in a way that simulates a bygone experience of being a hockey fan. Before the constant availability of news and information, you could get in your little fan-bubble and create narratives that made the game a true drama. I don't think younger fans relate very well to that experience, but it really is quite fun to switch off your rational brain and believe that you're the good guys, and over there are the bad guys, and they get all the help from the league and the refs, but that's ok because our boys are gonna beat 'em and make things right with the world.

I really liked Brickley until his comment last game about the how "frankly the Hurricanes don't need the extra point as bad as the Bruins do". **** that tool.

Missed this game, but I learned from this thread that when Ryan Murphy in his skinny pants says "You guys are so ****ed" literally no one on earth should be intimidated.
