I know Bryce Love is coming off the ACL and has been surpassed by many other RB's in this draft, but knowing that he had an interview with Buffalo at the combine gives me hope that he could be a guy they like in the 4th. Certainly worth a flyer imo, tough break for the kid who would've been a top RB had he declared for the draft a year earlier. Seems like a high character type who could sponge off of Shady/Gore for the year.

People keep forgetting the Bills have a Punter that has the potential to be a gem (well as much of a gem as a punter can be) in Bojorquez.

I’d be surprised if they cut him to make room for a vet unless he struggles at camp.

Beane: "I feel better but I still think we have a ways to go"

g11tK06T

The Owners Meeting got underway this week from Phoenix, Arizona and the Buffalo Bills were represented by the likes of general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott.

The former took some time to speak to the media on Monday evening, and for the latest from Beane here is some of what he had to say:

I think they draft one somewhere, but they currently have Croom as a pass catching backup and the converted OL Fisher as a blocking specialist.

I imagine their plan at punter is bojorquez, with some camp body brought in to compete.

He's one of my top targets. Would absolutely use a third on him. He'd be a perfect fit, imo.

My wish for the draft

Ed Oliver at 9. N'Keal Harry in the 2nd. OT Bobby Evans in the 3rd.

Thats 3 starters right there. Then with the 2 4ths get us a RB and TE. Then with the remaining picks go for the home run boom bust type players.

With how many players we have on the roster we no longer need those 6th or 7th round picks wjth backup level potential here. There are going to be very few roster spots.

I'd love to see us take Hunter Renfrow WR from Clemson with one of our 4th s if he's still on the board. He could learn the ropes from Beasley. He has every intangible McBeane loves.

Does he have all the classic hallmark stereotypes of a white slot receiver? Gritty, heady, quicker than fast, etc.?

They will have Carter too. Carter was booting piss missles in the preseason before the injury. He probably would have won the job from Schmidt.

There are so few things that are guaranteed in the NFL. I won’t get into analyzing the Patriots success and some traits we can follow, but aside from them there are very few things you can predict with much certainty.

Even players you think will always be good could be injured tomorrow or be greatly affected by the loss of a complementary player.

For that reason, the Bills approach this offseason has been very promising. Don’t let your love of a player on the roster or in the draft dictate what you do. Bring in the best mix of players you can at every position and let the best persons stay.

Our best WR last year was an UDFA rookie. Our best #2 CB by the end of the year was an UDFA rookie. Every team past them over through 7 rounds in the draft (including us that drafted players at their positions).

Robert Foster is 6’2” with a 4.4 40 time from powerhouse Alabama. So many people are saying the CB position is set because of Levi Wallace. Why wouldn’t the WR position be set because of Robert Foster? After one year you still don’t know what you have in either player (good or bad). That is why you sign Brown, Beasley, Duke Williams, Gaines and Kevin Johnson. They set the floor while Zay, Foster, Wallace, Taron Johnson, draft picks and others find their ceiling.

People clamoring for “gold standard” players could be getting pyrite instead. Marcell Dareus or Kyle Williams? Mike Williams or Jason Peters? Lee Evans or André Reed? Of course I’m cherry picking names to make a point. There are great 1st rounders each year, but just because we take someone in the first round doesn’t mean they’re the answer to our prayers.

Any of the ?'s I listed can be players currently within the organisation.

As for TE - guess they can carry Kroft, Croom & Fisher but that's pretty weak IMO. Maybe they could carry 4 at the expense of an extra receiver or lineman??

(WKBW) — Smack dab in the middle of all the offseason planning and execution of strategies to add to rosters, and the NFL Annual Meeting becomes the hotbed of the league in late March every year. And as all the key decision makers around the league descended upon Phoenix, the initial day provided Bills fans with insight from the general manager of the roster.

Brandon Beane spoke to the local media for a little over 15 minutes, and while he didn't come right out and give the keys to his roster or his draft plans, there is still much to be gleaned from the GM. The main takeaways?

Five things I learned from Brandon Beane about the 2019 Bills:

1) Stacking the first-round board with weighted positions?
2) Pegging values of a draft are of utmost importance
3) Is a tight end in the first round worth it?
4) Bills like Levi Wallace, but aren't going to put all their hopes on him
5) Pegulas providing Beane with freedom and without micromanaging

I think Gronk makes the HOF, but it is worth noting that his 521 career receptions have him in company with Ben Watson (530), Dallas Clark (505), Frank Wycheck (505), and various other tight ends that will never sniff the HOF. His 79 touchdown receptions are a lot more elite, though (but nowhere close to Tony Gonzalez: 111). His yardage is more impressive than receptions.

But I digress, he's making the HOF, probably first ballot.

I just don't see it. I don't see how he is a HOF.

You don't see how he's HOF? ok... injuries have held his career stats back.

You also said you don't see how he's elite?
Are you kidding? easily top-5 at his position throughout his career. He had (4) 1,000 yard seasons. The same number as Gonzelez and Witten. Winslow and Sharpe had 3.

Are we changing the definition of "elite" again?
