Watching Bills shortcut on DTV, the defensive performance is even more impressive. Regardless of stats, they made some HUGE plays. Even the corners who gave up quite a few yards weren't near as bad as the numbers indicate.

My one question though, why in the world would Robey every be matched up against Marshall? I don't care what kind of position Robey is in to make the play, Marshall is always open with him in coverage. He just isn't tall enough to defend such a tall receiver. Not a knock on his skills, just physics.

I'd rather have Robey on him than McKelvin. At least Robey will be on your tv screen.

Really?

I get it, he drops a lot of interceptions. However, he puts himself in position quite often to break up the pass. He didn't have that awful of a game.

I don't know what they do at corner this week. If A. Williams is out with a concussion, you might see Corey move to safety and Gilmore/Leodis hold down the outside.

Really? There are people who still have doubt Pegula will be the new owner of the Bills?

That's cute.

Whether people choose to believe it or not the NFL probably would want Trump. Big name and has had business success. People know who he is and he seems interested in wanting a team and does have a past in football.

At days end it doesn't matter who buys the team because they will face the hurdle of needing to get a new stadium and money isn't gunna matter. Anyone can buy has it to get a stadium going that's not the issue. Its finding a location and all. Pegula no more than Trump or anyone else guarantees a long term future. No matter who at this point its in doubt.

Wait, Trump has business success? Are we talking about the guy whose casinos have filed bankruptcy multiple times after getting into billions of dollars of debt? A guy who loves being the center of attention and creating controversy?

And Pegula? Who built his company from nothing and sold it off for $4B? Who stays quiet and does things by the book?

What the ****?

Right, because Pegula has done nothing to improve the city of Buffalo or show any loyalty the Buffalo sports fan base. :shakehead

No, they don't. See the United States Football League.

Trump SUED the NFL. Something tells me the owners aren't exactly doing backflips that Trump is bidding. File a lawsuit against us, but we'll forgive you?

The NFL wants rich owners, but the "right" rich owner.

I probably shouldn't waste my time with this, but seriously? Are you just pulling my leg, or do you honestly believe that?

Trump isn't even a real bidder. It is so clearly a publicity stunt on his part. His "history" that you're referring to isn't a good one.

If Pegula bought the team and they left the city of Buffalo, he'd lose all support for the sabres from local fans. Who would support their hockey owner if he let their football team leave town because, as you put it, it is difficult to find a good location.

In the famous words of T-pegs, the Buffalo Bills "ain't going no where".

The NFL wants nothing to do with Donald Trump. This never had a chance from the outset.

To be fair, those are their records against the spread, so I would ignore them if I were betting.
Straight up, they aren't all that bad.

These days, with as sophisticated as they get setting the spread, I'd expect betting the spread to be essentially a 50-50 proposition.

Assuming the spread doesn't change because of disproportionate wagering between sides, isn't it more or less true that if the spread is set correctly, it's essentially a coin flip with a very slight edge to the house coming from whatever side has more fans laying down money, with the half-point on the spread set to tilt that money to the house?

The half point is designed to prevent draws. Which in and of it self would be considered a house advantage. Because of there is a draw the better gets their money back and the casino doesn't make anything.

The NFL doesn't want/need controversial owners. Imagine if trump was the owner of the Ravens when all this went down? He'd be on every TV station talking about it....as if it didn't need more attention.

The NFL has gotten where its gotten with owners who keep quiet-ish and take their the NFL's $$. Come to meetings, be invovled, don't take attention away from the product. Trump would try to make the bills and their games about him personally.

I can't imagine they would have picked and notified a winner this quickly. I also can't imagine if by some slim chance Morgan Stanley did name a winner already, that Pegula would be pleased with his daughter alluding to it before the deal is officially closed (or formally announced). Then again, sometimes the butt tweets what the butt wants to tweet, so who knows?

Just phoned in an update to the desk: A decision on the Bills' next owner (pending final NFL approval) could happen tomorrow.

Perhaps K Peg does know something.

Money is money...hell the NBA kept Donald Sterling around forever for example. The USFL could have been highly successful but like many other sports leagues they tried getting too big too fast. They obviously had something if NFL talent wanted to go there instead. They were also on National TV and played in some NFL cities.

Who was involved in the NFL back then that is now? Almost nobody?

I mean the first part isn't a big deal. ESPN is still going hard.

The 2nd part...Jerry Jones does this now yet the NFL kisses his rear.
