IF (again, IF) the Leafs get squeezed on the cap and need to move Nylander to clear space for Marner/Kap/Anderson would Buffalo make a good trading partner? Alex Nylander is still down in Rochester and maybe acquiring his brother would be the motivation he needs to take his game to the next level?

No I don't think he holds the marner type value that leaf fans thinks he has I think kappy is the better over all player especially his speed. I think being over paid also loses value.

Moving forward he’s likely not overpaid. 60+ point players will be treading towards that cap hit.

If I was the Leafs I’d move him for a RD top 4 even if I had to add. I wouldn’t ship him out for a poor package though.

After July 2nd plenty of teams will want the cap hit verses the actual dollars owed.

Why does Toronto do this, I don't know much about Will Borgen, but leafs are in win now mode, and this puts them back.

The only trade involving Nylander is a 1 for 1 RHD coming back that has term, a good cap hit, and is similar age to Nylander.

If leafs blues did by some chance trade kappy is the guy I would want hands down over nylander. Thomas and kyrou are by far our fastest skaters. Putting them with kappy would be crazy fast. Obviously kyrou is still developing but is ppg at 20 in the ahl

That would be a sick line, but as a Leaf fan I hope it never comes to fruition. Unless of course, Pietro, Parayko or ROR were coming to Toronto, but that would require a bigger package than Kappy.
