If I HAD to deal Tuch:

Tuch + Lafferty
for
Geekie + Cernak + 2025 2nd

That's what I would start with. Top 4 defensive D, prospect with 2nd line Center potential, 2nd round pick in 2025

EDIT: And to add, IDK that I would even accept that as a Sabres fan. That's just what I would sit with in my head as the basis of a deal.

I wouldnt.

Cernak contract concerns me as being an anchor.

Raddish
Geekie
Gonclaves
Not even close

Buffalo has a deep prosprctU23 pool

Depending on the supporting pieces in the deal yes. Spence is 4+ years younger than Tuch and Kempe.

Those are all LHD. Doesn't Buffalo want to add RHD and C as current positions of weakness?
We already have a stupid young core of defenseman and we already know how dumb it is when all of your best Dman are 24 and younger.

Why does buffalo have to wait they aren't the ones inquiring in this thread?

It's not that complicated. If Buffalo wants roster players in exchange for Tuch, it'll have to wait until the offseason since of the teams is actually competing. The fact that we are asking about him doesn't change that.

My point is buffalo doesn't seem to want to trade him so they are fine walking away. I get your point trust me. It's just irrelevant to the sabres position currently and one would assume they go into the draft/offseason looking to actually get better which trading tuch for anything short of...cirelli won't address for them...

I’ve seen several posts on this thread inquiring about Cernak and Cirelli. Those guys could be available, but not right now, so I don’t think it’s irrelevant to talk about with the caveat that it wouldn’t happen until after the season. Even if you all are supremely dedicated to keeping Tuch with his contract situation, other deals could happen instead

There is some serious delusion from Buffalo fans in here, wow. Some of the worst valuations I have seen, it's actually impressive.

Bruh, you've got a local boy, fan favorite, on a great contract and one of the few guys who actually competes and all we've said is, "not available."
You want him that bad, it'd take Cirelli or Cernak plus. Don't want that? Fine. See ya.

Tuch would be a great get for anyone but Buffalo needs more Tuch types, not less.

If they move him, they’re proving they have no idea what to do with that roster.

Adams would take some of these deals that you guys are declining in a heartbeat, and it would be robbery for Buffalo. It's funny stuff to read.

I dare to explain exactly one of these offers Adams would take "in a heartbeat".

How fun. Tuch not for sale for prospects. Look at the Sabres prospect pipeline and ask yourself whether your bullshit offer has any value.
Well dang. If Buffalo has all the young players they need, why trade Tuch for any NHL level player? Wait it out and let your prospects develop. Find your solutions from within. Or trade the prospects. Unless of course no one in Buffalo trusts that as a solution because it really is "that bad". In which case we can stop pretending Buffalo has any sort of leverage if a team comes a-knocking.

Which deals? There are absolutely some Sabres fans that have some asinine takes, there's always a few in every thread. That said we don't want or need late 1st round picks in a poor draft and your prospect pool is rather shallow. Geekie and Howard are good, but Buffalo is loaded with forward prospects, we're already looking at this logjam and trying to figure out how we work these guys into the lineup going forward. The value offered by you guys might be close to what it takes to acquire Tuch in a vacuum, problem is trades aren't made in a vacuum you have to actually offer something that Buffalo needs.

I don't follow your logic. Buffalo absolutely has a loaded farm system. They should let the prospects slow cook and also try to trade some in a larger deal for an established player. They need vets to contribute and insulate these young guys in the worst way. As fans we have absolutely no idea what kind of leverage Buffalo has with Tuch. If he wants to stay here or they can get a large bidding war going they probably have a lot (which is what many fans are assuming) right now that seems to be the case. Tuch is an awesome player on a really cheap contract. I'd imagine most of the league would be interested in him. If he wants out that leverage diminishes as the contract gets closer to expiring, in which case they'll be forced to take the type of quantity offers TB fans seem to want to offer.

Your team has back to back Stanley Cups, two other Cup Final appearances, and just three playoff misses in the period since the Sabres last appeared in the playoffs. I don't think Bolts fans can understand our position (and that's alright, we are the joke franchise of the NHL and nobody needs to be paying attention to our situation).

The sport is also a business. If the NHL roster takes a step back (and trading Tuch for prospects obviously makes the team worse today), NOBODY will show up in October.

And we frequently hear "well you can flip those futures for another established player." Again, a situation Bolts fans can't really relate to - we are likely on nearly every no trade list out there. Our GM, in all his stupidity, has even (correctly) said "we don't have palm trees or low taxes" here. We are basically only picking from established players with no trade protection - which is itself a severely limited list.

Trading a local guy who wants to be here, on a reasonable contract, who fills a role both our roster and our prospect pool lacks? Yeah your meh futures offers are rightfully going to be met with disinterest.
