GDT: BUF @ OTT - This is not an April Fools Day joke

Wow, didn't realize Quinn was on that much of a heater.

I'm assuming Norris will miss this game against his former team, too? Man, Im enticed by the player, but his first stint with the team isn't relieving any of my 'injury prone' concerns.

Chad knocked down expectations on Quinn's run last night on his podcast, numbers are not sustainable.

The Norris thing is troubling now, but we got JBD baby! :D

I've seen a couple different people talk about it lately.

He isn't creating quality chances.

He isn't creating a lot of shots on goal.

He is just on an insane shooting% heater (like 33% over the past 7 games).

So sign him 7 years, 7.1 million then?

Shooters go on heaters all the time. They balance it by going cold as well. Is 33% for a goal scorer in a short period more unreasonable than a season 20% from Mcleod?

He's getting much better looks though ... so naturally the % is gonna rise. Certainly that is nowhere close to sustainable but Quinn has a nasty wrister and has simply lacked confidence and skating ability all year to get the looks he's getting now. He also just seems to fit with Peterka and McLeod for some reason.

According to Adams, sabres medical staff was 'totally comfortable' with whatever his health was coming over. Tuch came over during a rehab and didn't play right away if I'm not mistaken. You don't often see Craig Simpson situations anymore.

His xG rate not being much better than previously suggests that his shot quality has not been a lot better of late.

Fun fact: before he became a Sabre he signed a three year contract with the Sharks. The league vetoed it.

It's not just Chad D.

Another Sabres fan on Twitter that is reasonable with his takes:

Jack Quinn’s “improved” last 10 games:

xG%: 33%

xGF/60: 1.65

GF/60: 4.3

Please do not get fooled by this recent run. It is built on quicksand
His past 10 games, he's got points in only 5 of those games. The other 5 he went pointless.

His goals, that he's scored, are in areas and from plays you HOPE to see he can sustain, and I think he CAN sustain at a good clip. If he continues to make similar plays, which he should be able to make, then he should be a dangerous scorer.

3/25 Goal vs Ottawa - One-timer just inside of faceoff dot, closer to the middle of the slot. He put himself in a high danger area of the ice.

3/29 1st Goal vs Philly - Went to a high Danger area between the dots again after attacking that area of the ice.

3/29 2nd Goal vs Philly - Found himself just outside the faceoff dot, similar to the area where he scored his 1st goal.

3/30 Goal vs Washington - Great stick from the defensive zone and nice finish on the breakaway

I'm fine with Reimer starting again. Back-to-backs excepted, start each of them until he loses.

Quinn is again showing glimpses of the player we all hoped for after his rookie season. Can we please take some encouragement from that instead of dismissing his improved play as "unsustainable"? The guy has had a rough go the past 2 seasons, although apparently his off-seasons aren't what they need to be. Let's hope he puts in the work this summer and comes back ready to excel.

Yeah, I mean a shooting percentage heater is high percentage is necessarily unsustainable when you are on a goal scoring stretch. The games you score goals have unsustainable shooting percentages.

I don’t get the point either
