I don't think we've been particularly GOOD tonight. But holy cow we've been better than Ottawa, who look to be sleepwalking through this.

Yeah, those advanced stats are certainly not meeting the eye test tonight. Ottawa has been AWFUL in their own zone. Like, our level bad. Yeah, Ottawa has gotten a few shots on UPL......but he's only made 1 or 2 real tough saves.

4-0 might flatter us some, but the eye test says we should be winning.

variance in goaltending is the bane of existence for advanced stats.

The advanced stats say we’ve created essentially no offense outside of the 3 shots we scored on. Those 3 shots are worth about 85% of the xGF we’ve created so far, the 4th goal being a lucky bounce off a skate isn’t worth much xGF.

That matches the eye test up to that point in the game.

Anyone here ever get to see Staios (Otw now) get to play when he was a Jr in the Falls btw ? Good memories when you could cross the bridges by telling them your nationality.

Saw him when I had seasons in NF. He was on a similar tier with someone like Jay McKee at the junior level. I always thought he could’ve been a better player as a pro.
