Confirmed with Link: [BUF/MIN] Buffalo acquires Jordan Greenway for a 2023 2nd (from VGK) and 2024 5th

And thats why you go get him

can we think about this for 2 seconds

like just 2 seconds

he leads the sabres with 79 hits

in...

45 games

we added less than 2 hits per game, or 1 hit every roughly every 7 mins of icetime

wowzors, people gonna be taking sick days when they come to buffalo, the grant st bullies

I haven't watched Greenway much. My initial reaction is pleased though. Even after reading more about him and his advanced stats. We need defense from our forwards which he'll provide. Since we have three 2nds and a decent prospect pool now, giving up our 2nd-4th selection in the upcoming draft is worth it to get NHL minutes at a position where your best player just got hurt in the middle of a playoff race. He'll probably help more than nothing in a hockey sense, it shows management is taking initiative to try and make the team better when it counts, and the price we paid doesn't seem horrible.

If he's a black hole and actively makes the team worse, obviously it's a bad trade, but I have to trust management and pro scouting enough to give them a roll of the dice here.

Unless he gets hurt, he's playing every game the rest of the season. And will be penned into the lineup next year if he's still here.
Its beyond bad to trot him out there over and over. Dont need him on the PP, he sucks at ES, he cant kill penalites, he cant forecheck, hes bad defensively, and just doesnt have the effort

ps sorry for not knowing he had term, lets see some Donnie development and upside

Thinking maybe Kyle is going to retire as well ?

Guerin talked about that on his recent 32 Thoughts - The Interview that it was just once oversleeping and that they like him and he's not an issue in the 'room there. He was very positive in his comments so I would like to see if that's the case and he sees the opportunity as a reward coming to Buffalo.
I'm willing to keep an open mind, but I'm very reluctant to take a GM at his word when he's ultimately trying to sell me his player. Ultimately I can't fault Adams for seeing that size and toughness was an issue that needed to be addressed.
