Good for McLeod doing well in Buffalo. At this rate Savoie will be a huge piece for us in the not too distant future with so many of our wingers not putting up points. Looking like a good deal for both teams. How's Tullio been doing?

Tullio hasn't been a regular for Rochester thus far. They have too many bodies and he's one of the guys who gets rotated in and out.

They had to throw a couple bones at Draisaitl as potential top 6 wingers for him to sign the extension.
McLeod certainly wasn't it and Holloway wasn't ready.

Holloway has been pretty good with the blues from what Ive seen and with far lesser linemates than Draisaitl. Like Saad, Sundqvist and Schenn. I'd rather have him with that lower cap hit than Skinenr tbh.

He has been defensively responsible, he wins faceoffs, and when he is on the ice, more often then not, the puck ends up in the attacking zone.
Perfect summary of what he is. I loved him as an OIler and this was my exact expectation of him.

He's on a 36 point pace playing on the top line and with PP time. His production has doubled though.. he had 9 points in 38 games for us last season with mostly dogshit deployment. He also has constant injuries.

I wish him nothing but the best. Wish he was still an Oiler too! However, I hope everyone isn't expecting more than 40 points this season from him.

He's not really played on the top line. At least not on a meaningful basis. He doesn't play much if at all with Kyrou, Thomas (when he plays), Buch and Neighbours.

Decent 2nd liner production from him.

I'm not a blues fan btw. I have no stake in this. I just think he would be worth more than Skinner to the Oilers right now.

He absolutely would. No argument.

Honestly I was more bummed about losing him than I was McLeod. He's a lot grittier player than McLeod and almost as fast.

He would be especially when you factor in Broberg rumoured would have signed for 1.8m We could have signed Holloway and Broberg for a little more than Skinner.

The trade always made complete sense to me. Edmonton is going to need cheap skill (and speed) in the near future when those two league high extensions kick in. Buffalo still has too many young forwards in Savoie’s tier to have room for all of them. I think highly of Savoie and, unlike the slow and defensively non existent Skinner, think he will be a good fit when he earns his chance. It’s a bit weird to do the deal coming off a cup final…but this is when Savoie was available and Henrique stayed leaving McLeod a bit of a floater in the lineup.

If anything…Buffalo needs to do this another 2 or 3 times. McLeod has been a great fit and brings things the team needed. They still need multiple things. Would really like to see them try to get those things after five years of this regime’s reign of nothing. They’re squandering the big year of savings on buying out Skinner. They’re still sitting on too many forwards prospects. It’s a shit show.

Three - LD, Bouchard and McDavid if he re-signs.

Bouchard is likely to get a massive cap number.

McLeod has more points so far this year than Skinner AND Arvidsson combined. Yikes :laugh::laugh:
The locker room in Edmonton is likely a very odd place, we see a lot of players do well once traded away. I said it before but with how much the team relies on McDavid at even strength and on the powerplay it probably plays mental games with the bottom 6 players as they know McDavid will just be sent out when needed.

Oilers management needs to get some proper depth so they can roll 4 lines consistently without loading up a top line. Show your players you believe in them.

Sadly, I agree with all this.

Lot of tweets this morning from Oiler 'nerds' pointing out how heavily Knob is relying on Bouch/McD/Drai for points. Bouch is obviously not doing well with it but McDrai are just fine. But it still comes down to McDrai and extra shifts. 2 years ago it was RNH stepping up. Last year it was Hyman stepping up. This year, the only guy playing better (points wise) is Janmark.lol He's playing great but we need any of Henrique, Skinner, Arvidsson, Brown, RNH or Hyman to get on a heater!

Janmark is the perfect bottom 6 energy guy, he’s noticeable even when not producing
