Missed the game, guess I didn't miss too much, only heard on the radio. These guys always play down to the competition, when they play weaker teams. They need to be professional and consistent.

Good part of all this - women's curling is on, and at least they give it 100 % :)

Canada vs Korea -- great game, and that Kerri Eianarson ( Canada ) from Manitoba is great. ( 100 % effort all the time, unlike the Jets.

In the GDT I was hoping the Jets would rise up like Spartacus and play better defense.

Instead, they were tepid in their defensive zone again like Sportacus.

Schmidt with 3 more years at $6 million per :eek3:

That's what it takes to sign a third-pairing guy who doesn't do special teams -- or could he? No, little pilgrim, he cannot, because some other defensemen already play special teams, and that cannot change. Carry on, Schmtty, we need you to preserve your energies so you can stay "good in the room," and so lead the Jets to victory.

I don't firmly believe we're done. Columbus/Arizona/Buffalo are very winnable (so was Ottawa tonight I know) and if we can get 6 of 8 points in these 4 games that would put us right there.
I think it's just false hope. Last 7 games have Calgary/Colorado/Carolina/New York/Tampa/Florida and against those teams this year we have 2 wins and 8 losses. I bet we could win the next 8 games and still miss out.

It is simply not possible to describe in a thought or two how absolutely terrible this team looks as it attempts to play hockey that will get it some wins. They appear to be trying to "lock things down" and generally lower the risk-taking like they did when preparing for playoff play last season, but their structure is so bad it is hard to tell. The issue is they had better get wins cause this brand of hockey is monumentally boring and almost hard to watch - fans are going to lose interest fast.

I'm not optimistic that Chevy will do enough to turn this team around next season especially if he brings back Lowry and the coaching staff, this team needs some drastic changes and games like tonight only punctuate that thinking.

There’s literally nothing to suggest Lowry will be back next season other then extreme pessimism. I don’t believe for second he’s coming back and am fairly confident there will be an overhaul.

I was all for giving Lowry a chance but to me his biggest failing is not making the team his. Whether it was his idea or managements he juat kept running the same broken systems that Maurice was running, running the same lines and terrible deployment Maurice was doing.

So in essence nothing changed here. We also had plenty of time to sell those days off for him to change things.

They must be saving it for Laine tomorrow.

Did I see Dallas won after being outshot 47-15?

You would think they should be going for broke trying to win games you know given they are now 5 points out of a playoff spot.

What good is trying to get ready for the playoffs when you aren't likely going to make it do?

Let's cue another 10 game lossing strategy trying to get ready again....

This org I tell you just might need a complete new management team with new ideas. It's style and bad

Agree.

I'd suggest however that Lowry has put a lot less emphasis on any type of forecheck system. There is absolutely no sign of an aggressive forecheck like that which worked for us so well in the 2017/18 timeframe.( Of course, even Maurice was reverting to a very passive scheme in his last few years)
