Just finished posting the prediction thread for tomorrow night's game. Yeah, I've got a prediction what the Jets are going to be doing pretty soon...

I mean come on...Ottawa? OTTAWA? FFS... OTTAWA? Good on the Sens for showing the Jets how not to give up... Well, I guess it's back to the Tank Thread for me...

giphy.gif

Full speed ahead! See you tomorrow night when Laine lights the Jets up big time...

At least it will be something for the fans to cheer about...:sarcasm:

I don't firmly believe we're done. Columbus/Arizona/Buffalo are very winnable (so was Ottawa tonight I know) and if we can get 6 of 8 points in these 4 games that would put us right there. Definitely crushing to lose the very first game though.
Maybe, but I don't see it. We ain't catching Dallas, and we aren't winning three in a row easily -- something we have yet to do this season, IIRC.

If we get in it's by accident, it won't be deserved, and it would be the worst possible reward for the way the team has been managed, coached and played this season.

But you're right -- could happen.

Stanley needs to watch the game from the pressbox tomorrow, let Heinola or someone else come ib, what was he thinking on that attempted hold on the 2nd goal trying to jump 12 feet to catch that puck? What is the upside of that play at that stage of the game? Even if you manage to bat the puck down, you are gonna be so off balance coming down that there is a good chance that the LW who is coming right at you is gonna be able to corral it leading to an odd man rush. Just such a mindless play. Didn't like Svechnikov's backcheck on the 4th Ottawa goal.

They are done... whatever slim chance they had is gone after this game. Outplayed by one of the worst team in the league missing Chabot and Batherson. Sad!

And what a great job by our big crease clearing defensemen Dillon in front of the net on the Tkachuk goal.

I don't even know what the team tries to do most of the time in their own end and apparently neither does the team.

There is absolutely no way you can bring Lowry back given how the group has responded for the most part.

I would have moved Dillon at the TD but I'd definitely move him at or before the draft.
JMo Samberg Heinola and Stanimal are fine if our RHD are vets.

Oh I don't see it either and would never bet on it, but in the last 13 games this team has been playing at a pace that puts them right on the edge of making it. Really, really hurts to lose such a winnable game though.

Didn't you "flip the switch" right before the deadline?
See, the problem with that is that "flip the switch" was 2 seasons ago. Last season it was "changing gears." Like the Jets we need to move past old cliches and move into new cliches. I nominate "Turn the tide", "Turn the worm" "Tug the nut" or "Short the shart"

Good, but all your suggestions feel too smart, effortful and active for what this team is apparently aiming to accomplish.

I'm thinking something more like:

- Unclog the pipes
- Ride the tide
- Power down
- Give'er up
- Suck on

The 2022 Jets.

Embrace Meh.

Oh, and there's my nomination for our new coach too.

This game was supposed to be very winnable. I’d admire your optimism, this team doesn’t deserve it.

What a joke.

Terrible effort, terrible spacing, terrible support and terrible execution.

I agree with Button that this is a horrendously coached team but at the same time we got a major attitude issue as well. Really no pride whatsoever in this group.
I think Lowry should have been fired after the Vegas game. It is clear management has no structure just like the alleged pro team they put on the ice. This was such a predictable loss. They are really only in the playoff race mathematically. Tomorrow Laine puts up a 5 spot.

Missed it by that much lol ... seriously thats on coaching all he had to do is step in front of Ennis. Instead Ennis goes around Stanley and get the return pass to score.
How many odd man rushes do the Jets give up every game.
