Ok well first off do they have video review in that league? If not then it is what it is, ref probably was caught in a bad sightline. If they do then clearly the staff shouldn't be doing games.

They do have review for goals. My French isn't good enough to know if the announcers provided any context of review process.

That they reviewed it and then needed a second review to realize how much of a dummy they are.
Though I should have added they eventually did get it right, that's on me

NHL probably offered the refs jobs immediatly after the first review, then rescinded the offer once they got it right

Absolutely brutal and the team and fans were right to be pissed.
I also think there is some onus on the other team to go to the refs and be like, "Hey, that hit the post, it didn't go in," just from a pure sportsmanship POV. I was disappointed to see them cheering and celebrating when they clearly knew they got away with one.

What? This isn't house league playing for participation trophies. They want to win. It's not their job to make sure the refs do it correctly. Who gives a f*** about sportsmanship in this situation.

To the first point, are you saying that they reviewed it initially and still said it was a good goal and then they reviewed it again to call it a no goal? That's unbelievable if true and very lol-worthy.

So you're telling me game 7 Stanley cup final and that happens, you're going to go to the ref and say "no, it didn't go in, we still need to play"
There's a difference in deliberately cheating, like using ringers and stuff like that, and not telling the ref the goal didn't go in.

You still can, but you didn't, and you posted a QMJHL league call in the NHL forum instead of the junior hockey section, and so on and so forth, because reasons.

That's what they did. They reviewed it called it a goal and then after a 2nd goal retracted that and said no goal.
The first time it wasn't like they discussed it, thought it went in, but rather went over and watched a replay on the tablet and called it a goal
And it's a garbage call.
Those officials in the junior leagues work their way up up to the NHL and it's likely why the NHL has such garbage officials now.

Then don't watch professional sports, I guess. Competitiveness brings out the worst in most people; that's why penalty calls exist when players of any sport know not to cheat/illegally impede the course of regular play.
You really think Joe Schmoe doesn't know not to hook a player as they're passing by him on a breakaway chance?
I feel like the only time I see any sportsmanship on the highest level of play is during the Olympics where athletes are typically amateurs and that's only probably likely due to statistical probability of accumulating a huge amount of humanity together in one place at one time where some altruism during competition is eventually likely to take place.

Nobody's saying it's not originally a garbage call, but you're deflecting now. The goal was called off on review. I'd wager you're not actually familiar with this referee team and whether any of them actually have a good or bad history of blown calls.
There's no real outrage to be had - purely speculative or performative. It's clickbait.

Imagining looking being able to review the call and then blowing it when you can watch it in real time..
Imagine posting on a message board and being able to take your team before hitting "post reply" and still blowing it.

I can see now that you're just not very good at the back-and-forth nature of forum posting but enjoy the temporary attention you gained from intentionally posting misinformation when you admittedly have every chance to provide the correct information.
Without a doubt. The NHL loves to promote officials multiple levels above their capability. This duo would fit in perfectly.
