What if it was Casey for Marchand and Coyle? Bruins retain on Marchand 50%. What is then added to the deal as Coyle and Casey are basically a cap wash but Coyle is only for next year?

I was thinking more like Marchand 50% retained and Coyle (who takes Middelstadt's spot on the third line) for Middelstadt and ________ but didn't now what it was. C's in the trade have a wash of salary and Coyle comes off the books two years earlier.

I think they really have to try and move Marchy if the right deal comes along. If they can get a 1st, a roster player and a top prospect the deal has to be done. Do not mess this up and let him walk in the summer. Let him know that this is what we are willing to offer and with a specific term or we will have to try and move you.

I believe the deal could be for less, but things have to improve around here and this could be a good opportunity to get the ball rolling.

I think he should be traded to a contender to maybe win a Cup, team should reap the rewards of the trade and resign him in the off season if a deal can be reached.

This would be ideal for him and the Bruins.

People around the NHL feel like he likely gets traded to the west

Wow that's really some hard hitting stuff there. Lets call it what it really is.....

Marchand & Boston are trying to work on an extension. Team are doing their due diligence at the TDL to see if Marchand could be available. Boston would rather not trade him, IF Boston were to trade him they'd prefer to trade him to the West.

Doesn't sound as exciting when you lay it out like that though. It almost just sounds like shit that happens on a regular basis every year in the NHL.
