Not particularly pleased to see Max Jones sent down, or fail. What this kinda reminds me of is what you see a lot in baseball with minor league deals.
It feels like a couple times in a season you'll hear some relatively unknown reliever get a minor league deal that nobody really thinks anything of. said reliever comes in and is a way bigger add then people thought and helps with a team's bullpen and then either helps them make a push or gets flipped at the trade deadline which realistically still helps.
That's what this is. Does it make the Bruins stanley cup champions on paper? Absolutely not. (although...) But is this an add where even if it's ever so slight, it's still a net positive? I would say yes.
On a positive note as well, Max Jones gets sent to the AHL gulag which myself and i'm sure many others are very happy to see.
My gripe with him is that he's always injured. Seemingly, on a regular basis.
To be successful, he needs to play a certain way. However, the way he plays often puts him on the injury reserve list.
So, a bit of Chicken and the egg.
I felt the same way about Andrew Ference when Chiarelli resigned him.
I was incredulous, because Andrew was perpetually injured.
But, Peter noted that the injuries were due to the way Ference played.
Which is to say, with total commitment and all out for his teammates.
In that case, I was happy to be wrong.
Nothing against Max jones, but I have yet to feel the same about his game.
