We have big differences of opinion on PLD, so we will just leave it at that.
The animus toward PLD is exponential because of the idiocy of the move both with the asset given up Vilardi and the ridiculous contract. When you look at what kind of character type you'd expect for that kind of commitment (something along the lines of characterwise Koip, JQ, JW or such) and get PLDs little pansy routine - you add all that together - and there is no way mentally to give that guy a pass. Granted a lot of that anger should be directed at the idiots running the team - but he is the avatar of what happened. No way we can be objective.

Besides Blake messing up, so did the coaching as well. They did a poor job finding how to utilize PLD's skill set. The Caps did their homework very well(they had players and a coach PLD was familiar with), and that is why he's having success with them. TMac/Hiller both have similar coaching issues. They force their system on the roster(the system kills offense, hence one of the reasons why the Kings have challenges scoring goals), neither coach was a players type coach(something I feel this roster needs). It's been the same broken record since Lombardi/Sutter left.

He's having his average career year, 60 points for an 8 million dollar player is NOT HAVING SUCCESS. But f*** man, get over it, get his number, go f*** him and be done with it already.....

He played like shit here, he had glimpses of what he can do, but he's uninspiried, lazy f***, leaving everyone he plays for wanting more. But you are right, CBS, WPG, and LA all have it wrong, WSH is the saviour team.....yep, that's it.

Blake’s taken two big swings, Kovy and Duby. Both were massive whiffs. To his credit, he recognized strike two faster than one. But he’s still learning on the job. So there is still time remaining for additional lessons in losing to be uncovered.

Kovy didn't cost anything at all.....

Coaching is about getting the most out of your players. Todd failed & Blake allowed his coach to destroy his big off-season acquisition.

It's just gravy watching PL shutdown the King's top line while getting the primary assists on both goals.

Good times. Blake is a joke.

Oilers up next. :naughty:
Let's see if this coach has realized the King's have to play the Oilers top forwards & D physically.

It's pretty much become a tossup between Roenick and PLD...but tiebreaker goes to the opportunity cost of PLD for the players and contract.

Both total slugs that blamed everyone but themselves and mouthed off on their way out of town despite being given literally everything one could give.

f*** that guy. Was rooting for him, now would love nothing more than the Caps to start losing and expose the fraud.
Roenick is barely even a bad memory to me at this point...

it cost nothing to acquire him and so much changed at the end of his single (half?) season that he barely registers as part of it.

Heck the Kings even got the draft pick that turned into Bud Holloway in the trade that brought Roenick to LA.

If we're talking about the pantheon of bad trades the Kings have made over the years the Roenick trade doesn't even crack the Top 10.

Agreed.

I don't like Roenick much at all, but he's not even in the same stratosphere of destruction PLD did to the Kings.

I'd actually rank Cloutier higher up in bad trade acquisitions.

- paid picks when rebuilding
- was awful when he was here
- bought out/received little in return
- acrimonious attitude towards the organization after parting ways

He was basically PLD much earlier on a smaller scale.
