I just don't understand how he was here playing on his tryout contract, and playing professional within the calendar year, and yet now can't play professionally. Gotta love the bureaucracy.

I dont know how work visas work or expiry. He wasnt paid for tryout but now he would be.
Beats me.

looked it up. Depending on what work visa it can be 1 year, 3 years or 6 years. Then re submission required and go through renewal process again.

Hmm, looking at the website, it seems that delays are commonplace now for work visas, but this is the NHL. It's not like this is an unusual situation or Anton is applying to come over to work at the Clam Box.

I dont think that matters to folks that process the thousands of these.

The ‘do you know who I am’ approach typically blows up in ones face.

Guessing Reilly to the minors since he already cleared?
That's my hope. Or Foligno, I feel like we traditionally haven't carried 14 forwards. Lauko another option since he's waiver exempt but I want the kid to play in the big league. He looks like he belongs, at least through one game.

Definitely looking like a wise move to sign Stralman. Curious how he’ll look in our own end, no doubt his outlet passes are very good

But he’s a bona fide top 4 dman according to many here. Surely, he can garner something in return (snicker).
Umm Yotes started to get more offensive chances when Carlo left the game, he isn’t nearly as bad as you are making him out to be.

No one is going to trade for Carlo.
Oh I think they would if available, he’s still considered a really solid top 4 shut down defender around the league. I think he’s underrated a bit here, by myself included, because he’s so damn soft physically and now the concussion issues.

But I can see him bringing some decent value considering his age and locked up at a fair number, only problem is who’s replacing him and why would a team trade their top 4 shutdown guy for ours.

And I don’t think Bruins will move him, they’ll just keep hoping he can stay on the ice until he can’t.

No roster is complete with out the 1 million dollar post prime vet. Good signing that’s for sure

From my understanding based on what I read on twitter today and how it works with some employees at my company is that in order to obtain the visa the person must leave the United States. Once they leave, the visa will be granted and they will also get a new I94 more commonly known as the arrival/departure record that shows when you last entered the country.

On top of this they have to transfer his sponsor from his last team to the Bruins.

The other hang up may be getting his family here from Sweden as they too need visas.

I want to say it was Ty Anderson but it sounds like everything will be completed on Tuesday in Ottawa which will then allow him to come back to Boston with the guys after the game and also allow his family to join him.

There is a reason immigration lawyers make a lot of money
