Did Kakko get new legs? Wtf was up with that lol.

I love Schneider's game but he's so young and with the type of game he plays I would love for him to spend the majority of the season in Hartford so he can grow into his body more. Jones looked good today but the Bruins also iced a very poorly skilled team today. It'll be nice to see the Zac and Nils battle for that last d position. I think Nils is better rounded but he is new to NA hockey so he might need to season in the AHL a bit. Also, Nil's shot is a weapon not many players have so that will be a huge plus for him. I feel that Miller and Nemeth are locks to start of this season but if they start of shaky they are by no means safe.

Copy pasta'd from the first PGT

Panarin, Kakko and Jones for me. Honorable mentions for Schneider. He made a believer out of me, really impressed me tonight.

Blais... he's a wrecking ball out there and that's great and all, but he handles the puck about as well as Lemieux which is very not great. Just one game, hoping he's just getting comfortable.

Watching Hajek just depresses me. He tries as hard as humanly possible, but he just doesn't have it and never will.

Igor and Wall made the necessary saves. Turns out that's important.

That's all I got. I see the pieces and all the promise they bring. If they can just put them all together we're in for a hell of a ride.

first 4 games of his career he looked all world.
Then he got injured (shoulder) and somehow, they effed that up.

Need to upgrade his value a bit then deal him asap.

Zac Jones could be a left handed version of Fox. There. I said it.
Sounds familiar ...
where have I heard THAT before?

Let’s approach this with a level head. Top two pairs already made the team.

There’s one spot on D and its between Jones and Nils.

Right now it’s Jones, without a doubt.

Have plenty of doubt.
They are ballpark similarly skilled except Nils has a bomb of a shot.
Jones to his credit is an opportunist as a shooter.

Lindgren - Fox
Miller - Trouba
Jones - Schneider

I think this is possible.

I don’t think Schneider will make it. He needs more time in the A.

If it’s gonna be lefty righty with Nemeth out it will be Jones - Nils which would be the most unlikely and unconventional duo but I could see them develop into something really special.

I’m not even sure if it would be tried unless it was kinda accidental. There in lies the problem

I know he's not going to make the team but it's nice to see the progression out of Tim Gettinger. I remember a few years ago he didn't play a game that would get him into the NHL considering his best shot is as a bottom sixer. Now he's a wrecking ball and uses his frame very well on the forecheck and he's clearly far stronger overall and on his skates. He would not look out of place on the 4th line so as a second or third call up he's great depth. Good to see guys like him progress and turn themselves into legit pros.

How did Pajuniemi look?

The shot is always going to be there, but he is going to have to work really hard to survive in the physical element that is NA hockey.

If he doesn't get stronger on his skates, the best he will be is Brandon Pirri. But there is time for that.

Schneider, I saw him being very comfortable with the pace. He gapped up and closed in on and tied up his man very quickly a lot of the times. He also finishes his checks everywhere, including in the blue paint. Jones, he's got vision and thus moves the puck quickly and efficiently.

Is that the excuse we're going with?

K'Andre Miller is guaranteed an NHL roster spot from now on :help:
It's not an excuse, just stating it as it is. I don't think his future is necessarily set in stone here but I think the only way he's not in the starting lineup next to Trouba is if he gets injured. Gallant basically said as much re: the top 4 D.

Othmann looked good in his 1st NHL level style of game. My bet he makes the team next season. I bet he will have a career year in juniors this season. He is a mature version of JT Miller in my opinion.

tonight was frighteningly impressive for some of the kids

i take the vet performances good and bad with a grain of salt - from panarins great to troubas meh to stromes invisibility - these games are just about getting their timing back - they dont have spots to earn

the only "vet" although he's still pretty young i'd comment on was blais...who is fing awesome. he's everything we've needed. fast, genuinely physical, and brings some skill. i mean he was hitting everything out there and hard...he's gonna be a garden favorite. him and reaves are gonna give us something we haven't had in a long, long time. love that line...though would rather barron over rooney.

but the kids...kakko looks ready to break out. he didn't even do a ton tonight despite the 2 points. but you could see he's added a step, much more confident on the puck, looking to shoot, and much stronger. he was close this year, this year he's going to take off in a big way.

jones - he's head and shoulders above nils right now and quite frankly, maybe anyone outside the top pair. and he's only going to improve. the track this kids been on year over year for a several now is pretty ridiculous...he doesn't look like he's leveling off at all yet either. very impressive with the puck and his skating improved quite a bit. he's going to force his way into the lineup which is awesome.

braden absolutely looked like he belonged. let him develop some more but he's right there and plays the kind of game we could use.

libor - even the local whipping boy looked much more confident and was making smart plays for the most part...i'd bet he sticks around as a spare

othmann - he's a keeper. love his work ethic, has some nice hockey sense and is quick on the puck / very pesty. he looks fine out there at 18 which bodes well, he's gonna be knockin on the door by next year.

the future somehow continues to look brighter...also faceoffs...what the hell. we've been getting dummied at the dot for a decade + and one practice w/ a retired linesman changed everything. guys who've been part of the issue too, somehow figured out how to win o and d zone draws consistently. we'll see if it holds up through the season but both games its been very noticeable.

This is important to note. Boston’s lineup looked putrid. Didn’t recognize anyone.
