Prospect Info: Bruins Prospects XXV

Well I typed “LOL”.

How’s it “silly” to have him on there though. It’s a summary of objective statistics. They are what they are.
How’s it silly?
lol
His ice time and the goals scored are minuscule compared to the others. You would think they would have a minimal amount of ice time tagged to players name to give it some credibility

I’m sure they did. It’s GF% - what percentage goals were scored versus surrendered while said person was on the ice.

Not worth burning a year of the ELC over as they would need to sign him for the season. He is on an ATO in prov now, and his contract doesn't start till next season.
That’s a great point. You’re right. I just like him a little too much :p

I do too- he was an under the radar prospect that is looking like a good get for Sweeney in the 4th round. He's off to a great start and if he keeps it up going in to next season, I imagine we could see a call up next year at some point..

Mid week wrap

Zellers team eliminated 2 games to zero
Our guy finished with 1 goal 1 assist 6 shots -2
Next stop for him will be Development camp in July and North Dakota in the Fall
He finished the season with 44 goals 27 assist in 52 games

Moncton with a road loss, 5-2
Johansson 1 shot 2 hits -1
Still up 2 games to 1

Edward is back in Providence

Gasseau appears to be staying in school, nothing official from the usual suspects

44 goals. Wow. Led the league in goals. 3rd in points. Too bad he is tiny

Am I allowed to point out Liam Greentree is absolutely destroying everyone in the OHL playoffs?

8 games, 14 goals, 10 assists, 24 points.
What a whiff we made in last years draft.
See below, players that were picked after our 3 assist guy in the first round.
Stats are regular season

Greentree - 119 pts
Vanacker - 42 pts in 45 GP
Gridin - 79 pts
Hemming - 48 pts
O'Reilly - 71 pts

I hope we do not make these same mistakes this year.

Just add Letourneau to the list of "wrong guys" he has taken in the draft.
2015, 2017 and now 2024. Three strikes and you're out but
he will survive.

You and I often share our differences openly. However I hope I’m also fair when I think you’re right.

I don’t see an issue showing some data that implies that this season wasn’t just all terrible for one of our top prospects. It wasn’t the year anyone had hoped for, but this shows at least a little optimism. That perhaps with a little more opportunity, there’s something he can build on for next year.

Why can’t something like this be welcomed rather than ridiculed?

Because the point isn't just did he show some progress in 5-6 games, its who was drafted directly after him and he has blown his doors off the next year. This happened twice before with franchise altering consequences but, the moral to the story is somehow, THOSE ADVANCED STATS...lol.

Hell no, everyone wants to bury their head in the sand and rationalize the Bruins pick with meaningless stats. Come BD get with the program, it's called how to polish a turd.

Well if Greentree was playing in college against men and our guy was playing against teenagers we would be able to make an honest assessment.

Way to early to be so negative

If DL had more productivity I could buy that, but his production was brutally bad but
trying to rationalize and sell it wasn't, that really irks me.

There are overage players allowed in the OHL.
I highly doubt that the Kings would trade Greentree for Dean straight up.
The kid can score, 110 goals in junior.
He is EXACTLY what we are missing for a good prospect.
