Prospect Info: Bruins Prospects XXV

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

The kid is a very good Face off guy

yes his upside is likely as a 4th line center. But a good 4th line center who can win draws and play defense has value. Maybe he makes it and spends 8 years in the NHL as a role player. Maybe he never progresses to an NHL contract. Either way Schmaltz did enough to convince the team that he deserves a year in the AHL. He's not using one of the 50 NHL contracts, so no real downside risk here

Sounds like Beecher

We need a 6th center at Providence. lol
20 goals in 147 College games, can't see him making the show anytime soon and he is 23YO.
I think you need to look at the bigger picture ,he is not a NHL contract . Have to ice a team in providence next year and there will be a lot of movement between now and next season.

'Correct, if he doesn't show value for Providence either he'll end up in Maine or basically sit 75% of the time in the AHL.

Steals the puck. Takes it to the middle. Top corner snipe. I wonder what this fellas upside is. He seems to be the best player on his team.
Led Cornell in scoring just ahead of teammate (and perhaps future Bruin) Dalton Bancroft. Dark horse prospect plays a two way game with a hell of a shot, hope they give him a shot. Dom wrote this after he was drafted "He could be a low risk, high reward at this pick." Here's the rest

Thursday + wrap

Way back on Sunday Zellers pots his 41st ,had 17 minutes of penalties to go with 1 shot and a -1
They lost 6-1

Johansson starts playoffs tonight

Cornell stuns Michigan State 4-3
Walsh 2 goals 3 shots +2 19 for 29 18:43

Umass beats Minnesota 5-4 in OT
Locmelis 2 assists +3 8 for 18
Hendrickson zeros across the board

I'll be in Manchester today to watch Gasseau, Letourneau and Svedebäck

I love Locmelis but I wonder what his upside is. I don’t think he plays top 6 in the NHL. So is he a well rounded 3rd liner or more of a future defensive specialist.

Certainly a question of what his offensive upside it, but I think his game will play at the NHL level. I hope he turns pro this offseason, but we'll see what happens.
