They'll lose Canadian players who want to play closer to home for sure but I don't see the doomsday scenario that some are suggesting
Expect growing pains, increased player movements, lawsuits and more lawsuits
It might make the NCAA more competitive. But it should allow more Canadians to stay in Canada instead of going to the ushl. I’m sure lots choose the ushl so that they can go to university or college after.

yeah I`m not nearly educated enough about the impacts on the USHL, our friend Dom most certainly would be I would think
You've already had 2 USHL teams approach the OHL about joining the league.

There is already a bunch of media claiming what is going to happen. Fact is, no one knows because it is now all fueled by agents.

I would like to see the USHL become the 4th league of the CHL. Change the name of you have too. Make it a 15 to 18 year old league or maybe 19 and then the NCAA or CIS. I doubt that happens though.

I do believe the next move is up to the NHL before we see what might happen. They need to decide what happens to CHL players after they are drafted. As of now, they have to sign them within 2 years. They now can't sign or they lose NCAA eligibility. What happens to those drafted and unsigned after 2 years if they go to the NCAA? Does a team lose the players rights? Lot of questions the NHL needs to answer.

And no one is talking about how this could effect the AHL. Take Fabian Lysell for example. Would he have been better off developing in the NCAA the last 2 years or the AHL? I think I know my answer.

That would be great. I wish the ushl was a fourth league too.

Love folk who post recaps but our prospects are depressing me more and more. We're in for some tough times.

What's the outlook for Gasseau at the next level? Caught the BC Maine game and thought he looked like a beast out there

Unless the B's tank, or Sweeny is able to make a trade to a bottom feeder for a high draft pick, the B's will never be drafting in the top 10, so finding a instant difference maker is not gonna happen.
Back end #1's and subsequent rounds will be where they find their players. I think they have done an amazing job at that so far. Sure I wish they could find the next Bergeron/Marchand in the 2nd/3rd rounds, but it's hard to do.

He had a good weekend for sure,Gasseau is pretty versatile so that will help at the next level
His biggest negative is his skating gets worse the deeper into the season they go and that's playing only 40 games, what will he look like after 72 in Providence?
