As soon as verbeek fires Cronin 1. He lets the current crop of players off the hook 2. Verbeek himself is let off the hook some 3. Verbeek is under close eye by our owners who he sold Cronin to, to begin with 4. As a result of #1-3 he sells that being a team at the end of a rebuild, we might have to overpay in free agency or trade routes to become a playoff team. Which the Samuelis will green light
Rebuilding teams ALWAYS have to overpay. Edmonton with McDavid and Draisaitl had to significantly overpay washed up Milan
Lucic to come play there.

I don’t think he can get his frame to NHL size over a summer without the use of anabolic steroids (not joking). He needs to be 2 years away just so he doesn’t get injured.
He’s already up to 195 lbs. The kid has put in some serious work in the gym. Wouldn’t be out of the question for him to be 205-210 by next September.

That means we will still be targeting a top 6 wing shot via trade or free agency then.

Apparently at the combine (early June) he was measured at 6'2 3/4 and 182 lbs.
McTavish allegedly weighs 219#, and if we didn’t have Dumoulin, Fowler would be our tallest and heaviest defenseman.

I take these numbers at the opposite of face value.

Regardless, Carlsson is allegedly 6’3” and 203#, and he is still too underdeveloped to play the position the way he wants to. Sennecke looked like a stick figure in preseason, when he would have been that allegedly >190.

Look, if Sennecke rolls out in a couple years at 230 I'll be the happiest Duck fan ever.

Strome-Terry worked, go back to that. Maybe Killorn on the other wing because Vatrano wasn't doing much there so Killorn would fit right in.

Zegras and Cutter looked dangerous, so pair them together (though Gauthier looked good on the 4th line too, got assist on the first goal). Pair them with Vatrano. See if they can get Frank going (he's been streaky historical, right?).

Carlsson need someone to take faceoffs for him and Lundestrom can do that and it's fast. Colangelo has been scoring at the AHL level, sounds like he deserves a call up.

Lundestrom Carlsson Colangelo
Gauthier Zegras Vatrano
Killorn Strome Terry

Gives each guy that likes the puck in their stick his own line. Also, someone will get easier matchups, and that top line may not be horrible defensively. There just isn't much depth on this team, and very little chemistry. Cronin needs to put the guys that show a little together.
