Unfortunately, I say the same.
Also unfortunately, as much as I respect and admire Claude Julien, his time has passed.
I don't know what you do.
If they're going to stick with Montgomery -- and though wavering, I'm inclined to say they should -- then there has to be a systematic breakdown of what happened, decision upon decision, and why.
I'm sorry to say so, as I don't wish his ill will, but if Jim Montgomery is not the guy, then he's not the guy.
I think this sums up my feeling in general for the team and it's playoff performance. Really, everyone shares blame, but there's two questions that the organization needs to answer:
1. Can targeted changes in player/coaching personnel make a difference in their playoff performance?
2. Does the loss signal a need for new vision by replacing leadership (Sweeney, Neely, etc)?
Although the latter may be required, I don't see it happening and thus, limbo. If it's the former, I think we all will accept a not so great regular season record if they need to adjust to new personnel and just get in.
I don't really know what happens. The only thing I'm sure of now is that the current Stanley Cup matchup is nightmare fuel for Bruins fans. It's hard not to slip into cynicism with this team, but we'll see. They certainly don't have to worry about being a powerhouse in the regular season again. I never want to see a President's Trophy win again!
