I know Jim had alcohol problems and legal troubles because of it with DUI(s) and even went to rehab.

And I think Dallas fired him for alcohol related issues.

Unless he was drinking again and esp on the job like at the team facilities or something this is puzzling.

I get that they had to do something to jumpstart the team, but it's not Montgomery's fault that Sweeney and Neely gave him a lousy hand. The Bruins are insanely lucky to have only felt the consequences of their mismanagement now, instead of a couple years ago.

He'll go somewhere else and do a great job. Here's to a new age of darkness in Boston.
Beer nerd, got any recs for good pale ales or IPA's from NY/NJ? Will be in the area over the holidays

Shameful.

They needed to begin a rebuild and overpaid mediocre players pushing 30 to try to extend being an average to slightly above average squad as long as they could.

Their time has come and gone, and damn sure isn't on the coach.

Absolutely ridiculous to scape goat the guy after massively overachieving last year and having a historic season prior, just because the GM had a bad offseason. But I’m here for it.

If this is puzzling to you I'd worry about your own drug problems.

It’s interesting to look back to 2023. During the regular season, Montgomery was on top of world. Meanwhile, Habs fans were celebrating the struggles of the Panthers. During the second half the Panthers clawed their way back in to the playoff race. Now here we are. Tale of two franchises.

The Bruins despite somehow being in a WC position have a worse goal differential than the Habs. Regardless of who's fault that is a change had to be made and the coach is usually the one that falls on that sword.

Sacco is brutal, so hopefully some of these other underperformers(*cough* Pittsburgh) fire a coach soon too. Or maybe they think Gallant is the answer. Doubt it's Quenneville.
