Not fair for my blood pressure.

That will have to be my Super Bowl Sunday, being forced to go to Singapore by the girlfriend yet again for Chinese New Year next Thursday.

No Super Bowl, no first week of Olympics, plus her parents have canceled their cable....geez !

i don't give a crap about Johnson and his confidence and his 1 contact lens. Rask. Needs. Rest. end of story. Unfortunately CJ will probably start TR vs Hawks, we lose, and then he'll start him the next day to find his mojo or whatever, only to be pulled after the 1st period. How's that for mojo.

Yeah that was lost in the point that I was trying to make but didn't.

You need to get rid of that chick and buy a bigger T.V with the money you'll save by not going to Singapore.....I got a feeling about Sunday, Iginla comes alive and Rask gets the start and is brilliant. Good to see our boys win tonight, with Tampa and the godless Habs at our heels we're gonna need those points

Many positives tonight- Johnson very good game, Miller and Bart played very well, 1st line finally pots a couple and the PK looked much better.

The only negatives I can think of were the awful attempts on the many 2 on 1's and playing Chara on the point on PP. Krug's strength is playing the point on PP and I am sure he could handle the full two minutes until Hamilton gets back.

But overall good effort.

I liked the win, I would have liked to have seen a few Stars get their heads kicked in though...

- Matt Bartkowski was stellar tonight, just great. If he played like THAT every night we could tone down the defenseman trade talk.

- He can't though. Get a top 4, now.

- Krejci's anchors played better tonight.

- Brad Marchand was the best player on the ice. Ever since he went nuts in Vancouver he has found his game, big time.

- Ocho looked solid. He was in position all night.

- The Stars dive, a lot.

- Vern Fiddler was BEGGING to get his ass kicked, all night. I wish someone had done it.

- The officials were awful.

Did the fans even cheer for him? I know there was a video tribute for him, but it seemed to be a very subdued welcome back. Better than Seguin's return though, I guess.

He got a halfway standing ovation for about 45 secs during a commercial break. Huge roars and lots of LOOOOUUUUSS =]

The stick to the eye that Johnson received knocked one of his contacts out. He played the rest of the game with only one contact.

Wow.

And he still stopped the wrap around on that. Although I think that was completely coincidental haha

I was thrilled with the mindset out of the gate...everyone all in...go, go, go...everyone hits...every Star that touches the puck gets checked...

Made it clear, they didn't have a lot of time and made them flinch and move the puck quickly, making for plenty of turnovers.

Great, simple, plan to get out of a slump.

...and if Toronto wants a distinct kicking motion, I can give'em one to the behind.

Played a hard game. Could have mopped the floor if Bergeron and Marchand executed on their odd man opportunities.

Still don't like the Seguin trade. Smith is the real deal as a top-6 forward, but Seguin is younger and has a whole different level that he can ratchet it up to. Was 70% at the dot tonight as well. What's done is done, but I'll never be down with selling a player at a a low point. Meh.

Of all the defenseman playing behind Chara, Bartkowski looks the least over his head. Might want to think twice before you include him as a throw in for some loser washed up bottom pairing defenseman. Dude is a legit NHL D.

The Seguin deal is done, and it is what it is. Last night, in a tightly-contested close-checking game, I didn't think Seguin "ratcheted it up a notch" at all. Good in the dot, and two assists, one of which was pretty much a bad pass that hit Cole and went in after Seguin had allowed a nice feed to him to slip under his stick. He made a nice drive to the net on the second goal, but nothing spectacular. The B's knew he was probably going to be good eventually, just not in Boston.

Agree on Bart, and he has been playing like that for the last couple of weeks. I definitely don't "throw him in" to a deal for some run of the mill vet who will play a couple of months and be gone.

Agree with this. He needs to see as much action as possible to build up his confidence (and the teams) in his abilities.

Don't you really mean he needs to see as much action as possible to build up this forum's confidence in his abilities? I doubt either he, the team, or the coach lacks confidence in his abilities. Sure, they don't see him in the same light as Tuukka, and they shouldn't. But I don't read that as a lack of confidence, just that he's not an elite goaltender.

I'm curious about the confidence level the coach has in Tuukka right now.

I agree. I know getting the win was the priority but there was more than one Dallas player that deserved a solid a** whooping. It's a shame this is our last meeting together for the season.

Seguin looks like a player that floats around and waits for a shot. Never saw him in any dirty areas and making any contact. His powerplay also gave up many 2-1's. Must be nice playing in Dallas lol

Erik Cole was chirping Chara when he scored his fluke goal. The next shift he turns the puck over and the Bruins score. Something about Cole's face makes me hate that ex-Hab.

I think the hammer came down on Segs after his Eddie Murphy like desire to Party all the Time during the playoffs resulting in a production power outage.

Pretty sure everyone knows and knew, the kid is uber skilled, and expected him to light er up on the 1st line in Dallas.............but that`s all during the regular season, unfortunately for him, I think it will be a while before he shows Dallas Mngt exactly why the Bruins moved him, and that`s his will and effort to play playoff hockey

He played ok last night, not bad, not great, saw one net drive and had to do a double take to confirm it was him, other than that, same ol same ol

Good solid back to the basics roadie win for our boys

I think Claude does have a confidence problem with Johnson- why else hasn't he played him more? It isn't like Johnson stinks it up out there, he's been damn good in the games he's played.

Bergy needs to be told to shoot more without "looking". He gets too many shots deflected into the stands (this should really be tracked. attempted shots blocked, attempted shots blocked into the stands, attempted shots blocked leading to turnovers, etc), and doesn't have the kind of snipe ability to make it worthwhile to try to pick corners every single time. He needs to just let rip more often and then back off (if needed).

Chara back at the point on the PP. uggh.. It's no longer "when" he'll be able to get pucks through consistently (last night was a tiny bit better but still not good enough), it's that he simply will not and is not a good option back there.

If he's going to be on the PP, the front of the net was the only spot that he had any success. At the blueline on the PP, he is a liability. Now that the team has several more offensively talented defensemen there is literally no excuse to keep putting him back there other than veteran/captain bias.

Merlot was awesome last night. Yeti looked really good most of the night. Smith continues to impress, and I finally liked what I saw from Miller. He showed a bit of nasty in good situations.

Overall a good, tough win. They came out flying, but then really backed off the accelerator after the bogus "distinct kicking motion", so that should be the focus for improvement - dealing with early frustration and not allowing it to change a single thing about their game. Just put it in your mind that the goal was counted and go for the kill.

For 90% of his shifts I didn't even know he was on the ice.

B's won so I'm not spouting sour grapes, but the reffing last night was atrocious. One of the worst officiated games (both ways, more so against the B's) I've seen in a while which is saying something.

He drove the net pretty hard on the Stars 2nd goal to jar that puck loose.
