happened to be there and see the injury. it was early on and coach was running up-tempo drill. i believe it was an odd-man rush drill with backcheckers and regroups around center ice where forwards wait along boards in the neutral zone. lots going on. was watching pasta in particular and saw him end the drill by unwittingly backing into lettieri, falling on top of him. freak play.

pasta got up, leaned over to check on lettieri before motioning to the trainers. no weight on the leg as he was skating off the ice with help.

i didn't recognize the player at the time but have been watching team updates to find out who it was.

Hate seeing players injured, worse when it happens in practice or scrimmages

Seeing that he was called up to play for the big club and injured while practicing with them, will he be paid his NHL salary while recovering from the injury? Or does it not matter because it wasn't a game? Still feel for him either way.

So, it was announced that debrusk's comeback saturday is cancelled. He is not playing then. Is there any word when he is playing again?

That's rough to hear. Nosek is kinda in the same category as Forbort. Goes under the radar to the average fan because he isn't flashy yet plays important minutes on the PK and when the star players need a breather and defensively reliable.
Nosek is also top 10 in FO%

He plays an important role defensively and on the PK

The Bruins are taking it slow with top-line winger Jake DeBrusk, who is back with the team but will miss Saturday’s date with the Capitals.

DeBrusk, absent for Thursday’s practice after his flight home from Edmonton was canceled, participated in Friday’s on-ice session wearing a noncontact jersey. Coach Jim Montgomery explained that the team was not satisfied with the pictures of DeBrusk’s fractured leg, which has yet to fully heal more than five weeks after he blocked a pair of shots in the Jan. 2 Winter Classic.

DeBrusk is in game shape, Montgomery said, and his busted thumb is 100 percent.

Today’s Globe:

DeBrusk’s not there yet

Jake DeBrusk again sat out, after word earlier in the week that he was likely to suit up for the first time since suffering a pair of fractures (hand/leg) in the Jan. 2 Winter Classic win at Fenway Park. “He’s not ready,” said Montgomery, who could use DeBrusk’s speed boost on a power play running just a tick or two too slow in his absence. “He’s really close. He had a good skate again [Wednesday], and just where he’s at, we think Saturday [home vs the Islanders], will be a real good opportunity. We felt if he played [Thursday night], then he wouldn’t be able to play Saturday.”
