No, he was the one that was blatantly kneed in the first period.

I seem to remember that was a BS call by the ref. But that has nothing to do with Sikora. Thet need to target the ref who called it.

And I didn't' want to stir the pot too much during the Canada elimination.. I've been quiet on Sikora. But, time has passed so here is my view!lol

It's a case of many things are true!

1. he was absolutely brutally kneed
2. the Canuck missed his knee and hit him between his knee and balls
3. that was 100% a 5 and a game
4. Simek absolutely looked at ref
5. Simek absolutely embelished to draw the 5
6. A lot of poster and Mike Johnson don't understand the rules. Let me explain because I read a LOT of this:

1. if you knee a guy, it doesn't matter if your feet were planted
2. if you knee a guy, it doesn't matter if you hit his shoulder first
3. if you knee a guy and don't break his knee cap/tear his ACL/tear his MCL it does not mean it wasn't a f***en knee

That knee was blatant as hell.. it just didn't kill Sikora and he was able to return from it.

If I did that move at a pickup game.. I'd expect both my tearmates and the other team to beat my ass after in the parking lot.

So be mad at Sikora all you want but Canada (and the Czechs) are the 2 dumbest penalty taking teams in the tournament. That was part of their problem. They didn't overcome that problem and hating Sikora doesn't fix that. You can be mad he didn't need surgery. You can be mad he looked at the ref. You can be mad he hasn't missed a shift. But you SHOULD be mad that your player blatantly kneed him. You SHOULD be happy Sikora wasn't seriously hurt.

I thought we took over the game after the first 10 minutes. Looking ok overall and Gidlöf will be solid once he gets going.
