Brodeur statue??

Well, Mario did save the franchise twice from moving out of Pittsburgh.
Once on the ice and once off the ice.

I agree with Richer's Ghost about statues and living people, it does not seem right.

I'd be okay with a Brodeur statue, as long as they make it from melting down that God-awful thing in Championship Plaza.

I'm all for the team first mentality...but lets be honest here...Since 1994, the New Jersey Devils have been, Marty Brodeur...

If you ask Marty, I don't think he'd say that. If you ask Lou, he definitely wouldn't say that.

In the Rock sure. Outside the Rock no.

I agree with this. Something on the concourse at the Rock would be nice. On the street, that invites a whole host of problems.

i'd LOVE to see a marty statue in the near future...maybe him doin the 2 pad slide...maybe him playing the puck...idk. would be great though. i dont know if lou would be down though....dammit. if only marty had a brother playing in california..

i would love a freaking 2 pad stack Brodeur statue in championship plaza.

Statues inside just don't have the same feeling..

it would be an epic statue i'lll tell you that

**** yeah it would if it's right in that round entrance area, and humongous.

Imagine a huge bronze-Brodeur chillin' in there.

Im pro statue.

In championship plaza, or in the park that is supposed to be built.

Serves 2 purposes, honor one of the great players of all time, a career long devil, and adds to the environment outside the arena.

No brainer imo.

I was not talking about asking Lou or Marty lol.

Aks anyone else...is what my point was.

Of course, anyone else would say it. But Marty and Lou's opinions are the ones that matter here. Marty wouldn't ask for it, and Lou probably won't do it. Having #30 in the rafters is enough.

Maybe a future GM or owner will decide it's a good idea. But it won't happen under Lou's watch.

You guys are overthinking it. Its a statue not worshipping some false idol. Marty is an idol and the organization was built around him

Meh, I dunno about a statue, but there's a huge empty wall on the side of Edison Ale House facing the plaza.

Put up an epic mural with him along with Stevens as the centerpiece of said mural.

This idea I like. For one of the younger organizations, the devils have some great history and a lot of legendary players. Having something to represent the team's history somewhere in/around the rock would be nice.

And with a mural, it's easy to continuously add new elements to it. Marty & Stevens did play a big role to get the team where it is today, and it'd be cool to see new faces come in as the team moves forward.

Then again, murals also have the ability to become tacky and overwhelming. Like statues.

Errr... I'm guessing you never noticed the humongous Brodeur/Stevens/Daneyko mural in the Rock?

We should use that wall for one of Kovy's many troll faces.

Sadly, no, I guess.
As many games as I've been to, I'm usually running late and rushing out.

I know the weird mural with the tiny heads, the high school jerseys and that's about all I've been able to take note of.

Oh.. and how awkward it is that the player whose picture is closest to the main escalator is Fraser. Unless that's been changed since Vancouver came into town.

Yea, there's a humongous one outside the Ice Lounge on the lower concourse.

Brodeur's in the middle, Stevens on one end and Daneyko on the other.

There's some other NJ sports legends on there as well but Brodeur is by far the biggest and center most figure.
