Brodeur statue??

All joking aside, this is exactly what our team needs more of. We need to celebrate our history, heroes and accomplishments more. Sure, being team first is great, but its bland when all we see is logos and team colors around.

I wanna see a Brodeur statue. I wanna see something like a "trophy room" with a history of our accomplishments that fans can visit. Championship plaza should have more of a championship theme and have art work and art installations like statues or relief scultpures celebrating our championships and winning pedigree. When opponents, opposing fans & casual fans walk into our building, they should know they are walking into our house and be intimidated/impressed by our accomplishments.

Agree, they are too focused on the Jersey marketing and not on our history IMO.

As an outsider, when I think about the Devils I think Brodeur.. I think a statue would be nice for him/organization.

I'm totally down for a statue, especially if it replaces the giant player in Championship plaza, but it has to be this save.

Heck yea there should be. But it should be the scorpion save he made on gabby.

Marty will get something a little extra special, probably not a statue or something...maybe a section named after him...or some sort of naming on the arena

should be Brodeur arena....without him we would still be in the basement
all joking aside I think a statue is overkill

hey Richer's Ghost ! Hilarious picture of Lou looking out the window at the snow LMAO !!!

Bingo.

The Devils won't even adopt a third jersey(I wish the Isles would do the same, please don't mention our third jersey :shakehead)

And they already have a statue outside their arena, which is just dedicated to the sport of hockey itself, the way it's supposed to be.

by far one of the worst hockey jersey's of all time has to be the Isles fisherman...horrible!

Love it or hate it, those colors are a huge part of the Devils' history and it's only right for them to break out the old threads once in a blue moon.

For the Devils/Rangers outdoor game at Yankee Stadium, I would LOVE to see these brought back just for that one game:

Don't forget that these were the sweaters worn by the Devils during their first ever win back in 1982 at the expense of the NYR.

love that jersey, still wear mine when I play hockey and yes we have to wear them for the outdoor game

No, its not this teams way.

The Pens can erect a statue to tanking for glory, I want none of this false idol garbage.

And Penguins fans can skew it anyway they want, they purposely dressed minor leagues and lost to draft him.

I completely agree. Statues project pagan idolatry, which happens to be antithetical to this teams philosophy and history. The fact that MB is the greatest goalie to date (in my biased opinion) is irrelevant, to me it contradicts the team(s) philosophy. Larry Brooks once wrote an article where he suggested if Scott Stevens had played for the Rangers, there would already be a huge statue of him in front of the Garden. That may be true, more the reason I detest the idea of a statue. Let the Pens and Rags worry about statues, this team needs to worry about re-establishing itself as a force in the East, and Marty probably couldn't care less about a statue anyway.
