You’re not wrong. Playoff teams who are loading up typically don’t subtract from the roster. The canes Rantanen/Necas is a unique situation because Colorado didn’t want him to walk for nothing and the Canes feel they can and will re-sign him and he’s an upgrade obviously over Necas

That’s what I figured. I know it’s going to be ugly for the Islanders if that was the base for the offer with more coming from the Isles side.

There is absolutely no chance NJ is going to hand what is still a pretty high valued asset to a divisional rival for a rental.

2nd+Heidt was offered by Wild fans and were told that isn't good enough by 99% of Islanders fans. Shoutout to the one Islanders fan that said it was a good deal. Forget their name.

The projected trades in here are next level delusional. Some dude said 1st + prospect equivalent to a 1st + mid pick + roster player. If some team was willing to trade half of that, Nelson would have been traded by now.

1000% would take that. We have some louder fans who expect the world, and it’s possible that that offer would be beat by someone but I would be happy with that

i dont think you get middlestadt for an expiring nelson. i think your looking at a 1st + c-level prospect or 2nd + b-level prospect.
