Nelson has scored more points in a season than Erikssson-Ek and Rossi, he would literally be MIN's de facto 1C (yes I understand they would have essentially three 2Cs).

2nd+Heidt was offered by Wild fans and were told that isn't good enough by 99% of Islanders fans. Shoutout to the one Islanders fan that said it was a good deal. Forget their name.

The projected trades in here are next level delusional. Some dude said 1st + prospect equivalent to a 1st + mid pick + roster player. If some team was willing to trade half of that, Nelson would have been traded by now.

He’s coming to you guys anyway so why even trade one aaset for him unless

A. You think you can win the cup this year
B. He gets traded somewhere and you don’t want the possibility that he falls in love with the place.

Me personally 2 seconds and a third and I’m sold. We need darts and I don’t care if the board is far away.

A first, mid round and a B prospect (with actual NHL potential) is probably the basis for the deal in all honesty. If you go first, mid pick and roster player, who’s the roster player? A bottom six forward/6th defenseman with too much term/AAV isn’t it.

The conversation is pointless because our next two 1st rounders have conditions on them and our GM has shown that he isn't willing to trade 1st round picks for rentals. Hell, he's only traded one 2nd for a perceived rental (Fleury). If you follow the rules of that trade, Guerin would offer a conditional 2nd that turns into a 1st if the Wild make the conference finals. That's about the best Minnesota can do.

That wouldn’t even work. You’re not offsetting the 2nd with anything based on the available options. It’s still either cap dumps with term or prospects who have a shot to become fringe players in terms of NHL upside.
 
Someone is going beat that offer digital but not to fear for I don’t think he’s going out west. And even if he did you got a playoff spot all but locked up. It’s not like he’s going to get traded to blues or Utah and they go on this miracle run and you somehow miss out of a playoff spot. And for the record Heidt is crap. At least offer us Yurok with that 2nd of yours. Hell I’d take Yurok straight up and you can keep the second.

Yurov is our top or 2nd best prospect and sportsnet had him as the #5 prospect who had yet to play in the NHL before the season started. He isn't getting traded for anything short of one of the top 20 forwards in the league.

What does that even mean though? You laughed at Lambos, whom was a 1st round pick in 2021. The other guy thinks Heidt sucks while he has scored 266 points in 169 games in the WHL and thinks we should “at least” offer Yurov (lol). Islanders fans have already said prior to this they don’t want Ohgren, which is good because he wasn’t available in this sort of deal anyways. Zeev/Wallstedt are not available for the same reason Yurov isn’t available. I can’t see the team trading Stramel after his development just spiked as one of the top players on one of the best teams in college hockey. I guess that leaves Ritchie? But if you don’t think Heidt is that prospect, not sure how you can say Ritchie is him either.

I genuinely have no idea what you mean by “1st round equivalent prospect.”

As much as I’m going to hate it, they are probably going to stick Yurov on Kaprizov’s wing once Zucc’s contract is up. Stramel the 3C ala Ek when he first came into the league

I'm curious to see what Winnipeg's interest level is . I think they're in the market for a 2c and with Lowry out for awhile they might be shopping ahead of the 4 nations tourney .

I think Brocks hometown (does he even live there in the offseason)is 129 miles from winnipeg so he might not have the Jets on his no-trade list

At this point, Peart and Lambos seem to be trending in the C tier prospect level and I’d rather the Islanders pick up a forward instead of a defenseman to start anyways. There’s too many LHD in the system currently. You’re removing the A tier prospects of Buium/Ohgren/Stramel/Yurov. Who’s left that’s available and isn’t a 5’10 forward?

He might be interesting depends on the cost, not fans demands. Historically Jets don’t give up much at the TDL bc they need picks and prospects bc they don’t get many FA in July.

There is multi options at center out there.
