Isles need scoring and RWs. Trading Nelson who can pot 25 at 2.5 milli isn't worth trading IMO. If there is a RW for him deal worth making maybe but I don't see it.

Not all Isles fans will agree with me because Nelson is soft as baby crap, and he is, but with Kulemin, Lee and Ladd combing for like 5 points or whatever for 14+ million I think we need to manage more on who's scoring.

If he sucks again in the playoffs hit me up and I'll let Garth know.

Nelson seems to be worth a lot more to the islanders than to any other team.

Lee and/or Strome are likely attainable (or at least should be) for a legitimate 2RW that is not on an expiring contract.

Nelson would be a little harder to get.

Deal won't be there until deadline anyways. GM's aren't selling their scorers until they know they're out. If i'm Garth and Isles are in at deadline and trade with a team thats out, Maybe Det for Nyquist or Carolina with Skinner. If Isles are out Garth should be gone.

Damn would love to buy low on strome. Always been high on him esp after his 50 point rookie year. If I were Bergevin I would be looking real hard at this kid. He would be a huge upgrade over Horrible 2/3 Cs the habs currently have in Plekanec and DD. Lehkonen, Shaw, McCarron, ...., pretty much every prospect other than Sergs, Juulsen and possibly Scherback and every forward other than our big (small) 4 (Gallies, Pacs, Rads).

Probably not.

Strome
Pelech

For

McCarron
Scherbak

Good prospects and value, but Isles need someone to play with Tavares now. Someone who is already a proven goal scorer in the NHL. Don't think Canadiens have any fits besides Pacioretty and he would be too expensive.

My offer would be

Strome + De haan + pick/prospect for Pacioretty

I would love to get Strome on the Habs, but I guess Andrighetto isn't of interest (no way you get Radulov or Gallagher). In a perfect world DD@50%+Andrighetto+2nd :naughty:

The next down the line would probably be Scherbak (unless you're interested in Shaw/Byron/Flynn :naughty: ), but he's not NHL top 6 ready yet IMHO.

How about Lehkonen+. Def not top line material but great shot with good speed and great defensive player.
As for that offer, I would prefer hamonic... or add Da Colle/Barzal and a first. Habs add more.

Pulock

For

Nyquist
Marchenko

The Isles get a top line right wing, in his prime with 2 years after this one. They also get a solid bottom pairing RH'd dman.

Detroit gets two players they hope will reach their potential, and a vet cap dump.

Yeah, there is really not a fit right now because the Canadiens want to make upgrades using their spare parts and Islanders want to improve the quality of their forwards.

Pass on any young forward Habs have for strome. Could make it work with Hamonic instead of De Haan, but would reduce pick/prospect for sure possibly even take it out completely. Isles do need to move a defenseman to make it easier to protect their assets for the expansion draft.

technically thats true but I dont see how Strome woul get Gallies, Rads and Pacs straight up. The only player he might get with a huge add is pacs.

Strome, Hamonic and a conditional second for Patches?

Clip off the fat, Strome and a pick for Nyquist.

They've spent too much time developing Pulock to move him for a defenseman like Marchenko.

Don't know if DET does that though.
