Nelson seems to be worth a lot more to the islanders than to any other team.
How about a Strome and a pick for Tatar swap?
Do not want to move Nyquist
Nelson is a horrible hockey player with a pretty good shot.

Coyotes in desperate need of C help, at least short-term, could be in play for Nelson. Something around Reider for Nelson.

Wild really wanted Nelson a few years ago. Maybe they'd still be interested. Had a mutually beneficial trade before, after all. The whole friggin expansion draft thing screws with me though. I only want to lose one of our D, not one to the islanders, one to the draft. Also if we picked him up we'd have to pick another forward to expose since it would make sense to hand over a good asset for him only to leave him swinging in the wind.

The only player I'd be interested in from Minnesota is Charlie Coyle. I doubt he's available for Nelson.
As much as I like Rieder, he's the last player the Islanders need. We need high scoring RW's. Rieder is a middle-6 LW. We have those up the wazoo.
so do the Coyotes Fischer figures prominently in their plans starting next season. You're better off trying to make a play for Ryan Strome at the deadline (if NYI is out of it), or at the end of the season (if they are not).
I really like Christian Fischer.
that's a little narrow minded but I can accept it. But no, he wouldn't be available. I'm sure Isle fans wanted more than Clutterbuck for Nino, too, but that happened and it still worked out. But you could definitely do better than Clutter for Nelson. Might have to go a little off the map as far as "wants" go though.

I mean, it's mostly narrow minded because we have narrow needs. Scoring RW's and a new coach. Coyle seems to be the only player worth trading for on the Wild in terms of what our needs are. If the Islanders needed defense, I'd be very interested in Jonas Brodin, but we don't need defense.
Good value, definitely would have me thinking but I really really don't want to give up Pulock. We can give up a lot before we give him up.
Would Vande Sompel and Wotherspoon be better?
Nelson caught a rut on the ice last night in the Canucks game...looked serious...and seriously is that ice in Brooklyn not the worst in the NHL?....puck bouncing like a tennis ball, and becoming a danger for the players as well.
