Brock Boesers days in Vancouver APPEAR to be coming to an end as his game is unforutnately really starting to round out. Skating has improved, defensive game is complete, great passer and legendary shot. Hes a former allstar who struggled after a cheapshot from Clutterbuck a few years ago but is back to speed. Many Canuck fans will NOT be happy to trade Brock Boeser but i feel it should happen and this deal works out for them despite losing him. The Canucks they are too thin on defense and have many top line forwards but this just does NOT work out

Dobson in New York hasnt lived up to the pre draft hype and will be a RFA at the end of season just like Brock Boeser. Seems like a natural trade off here and could be one of those win win trades. If the Canucks retain on the deal then NY is not over cap as well. Brock Boeser on Barzals wing for a decade could be one of the best duos in the league. Dobson paired with Hughes would be solid too

Because dmen are worth more than wingers Canucks would need to add former 2nd rounder Jet Woo is a bulldog and could anchor down a spot on the NY blueline for YEARS

To Vancity: Dobson, 2022 3rd round pick

To NYI: Brock Boeser (50% retain), Woo, Bailey, 2023 4th round pick

Why does it appear his time is coming to an end? Also, where do you get all this 2023 4th round nonsense?
Dobson is more valuable. Why are they adding the higher pick?
what wait for next years draft for the 4th?

From a canucks fan, NYI decline

idk why people think Boeser is going to end up with a 7.5M + cap hit. Yes his QO is 7.5M, doesn't mean he signs for that. Boeser is not a 7.5M player. If he and his agent want a long term deal, he's looking closer to 6-6.75M max. If he refuses, the Canucks would take him to arbitration. He likely is to get the minimum possible at that point which is 6.375M. So does he want a 1 yr 6.375M deal and bet he can go back to being a 60+ point pace player so he can make around 7.5M long term or avoid the risk he repeats his current season and drops his value below the 6.5M long term he prob gets offered.

Okay this is a hard no. Dobson isn't gonna get traded for Boeser, especially considering that Dobson is seen as one of their younger players and relatively is a defenseman they need for the future. You do have a case for Boeser but it just won't happen. Also Jett Woo is not the same as Dobson in terms of production and play

You’re pretty over the top with your praise of Boeser. I don’t see it. Boeser was a more impressive player earlier in his career than he is now. His qualifying offer is also way too high.

Bad proposal. Weak attempt to justify why NYI do this. Boo this man!!!

Except in order to bring a guy to arbitration you need to qualify him 1st.

Ans Boeser would just sign his QO

I dont get it.

Boeser by your praise has been awesome and Dobson hasn't lived up to his hype as per your words but you want him on your 1st pair? Having friends who are isles fans thats just not true.

The proposal also:
1. Doesn't think about the salary cap at all for the isles.
2. Doesn't consider the isles needs as they need defense way more than RW.
3. Is off pretty bad on value.

So if both fanbases dont like it, probably means its close to value
So the Islanders are getting a top 6 winger (with retention), a B prospect and AHL player plus a pick for a defenseman who’s still under RFA status and has been playing like a top pairing guy since coming back from his Covid hiatus? Yeah, not even close to a fair deal for the Islanders.

Thank you for this post. I hope everyone who refers to BB's QO read and understand this. He gets 7.5 for 1 season, then he gets what he gets long term. Nobody in their right mind is paying him 7.5+ long term. Do people also think Timo Meier is getting 10+ long term due to his QO?

But, No chance the Isles move Dobson for Boeser. Canucks would have to add for sure.
